Re: Hua Hin dual-track rail routes go to cabinet

I use the railway for long journeys where you can sleep... Penang (Butterworth) and Surat, for example. Now that the airport bus station is pretty-much in Cha-Am, I'd consider using the railways for journeys to Bangkok if they were reliable enough.

I don't think you can get 5 years on a turist visa.
Correct.
They told my wife that I don't need medical letters next time I have to renew my 5 years license, but I needed it when I went from a 2 years to 5 years.
Yes, that's the information I was given, too.

I have no idea what the situation is if you're exchanging a one or two 2 year licence for another 2 year licence.
I don't think that's an option.
If you're on a Tourist visa it's the only option. Or at least it was when I did it two years ago.

Re: Drivers License Dec. 7 2016

OK to clear up some confusion... I went to Cha-Am today to renew my licence. They we adamant that I needed a health certificate and, strangely enough, no matter how many times that I pleaded "but my friend didn't need one", I was sent on my way. Managed to get a certificate from a clinic in Cha-Am.....

Re: How to make payment for True Vision subscription

The internet site lists invoices and shows how much you need to pay. You can even select which invoices to pay if you only want to pay the (over)due ones and not ones that have only just been generated

Re: How to make payment for True Vision subscription

I vary rarely get a bill for my True internet connection but I managed to sign up online and am able to make payments through the website every month. They allow credit/debit card payments and something which they call "Direct Debit", whereby you are presented with a gateway to sign in with your ban...

Re: Labour Ministry: visa and work permit violators threaten Thai lives

If you are on a holiday, it is very suspicious if you need to stay for long periods without visa...If you have a right to stay here there will always be a visa for you...And if you have a lot of money there are even more options like Thailand Elite, and probably others. There's a big, huge, gaping ...

Most of these attacks are socially engineered, meaning that the user has to do something - open an attachment, or click a dodgy link in an email or on feckbook - to infect the system. A bit more vigilence with what you click will go a long way! Except the last two big attacks did not require any in...

Re: Why aren't there bars like this in Hua Hin?

Yes, the "no have"/"finish" or "mod kaa" can be an annoyance but that's not specific to La Birra, really! If my first choice is unavailable then I'm usually luckily enough to get my second choice. the last time I went, the beer menu - whilst still quite large - did have quite a few items removed. I'...

Are you sure the sign says that motorcycles are not permitted? I'm not familiar with that particular stretch but all the signs that I have seen along the route say that motorcycles are permitted?

Re: Why aren't there bars like this in Hua Hin?

Anyone been to La Bierra in Khao Takiap yet? Just wondering, rather than reading about Japanese brothels or how safe you feel visiting Thai whorehouses alone. ...yes? "Lost" pub in Khao Takiep also offer a few imported beers, though nowhere near the variety on offer at La Birra. They have a big foo...
