Re: Driving ranges in Hua hin
I found the caddies to be very experienced and willing to help me for free - especially at Majestic. They are in a different league from Bangkok area caddies.

Re: 2011 Cha-Am / Hua Hin Golf Festival
I played at Black Mountain, Majestic, Lake View and Springfield a couple of weeks ago and the courses were all in pretty good condition.

Re: Cheap golf courses
August and September are the time to visit Hua Hin for cheap golf. As part of the golf festival most of the big courses discount their green fees to 800Bt

Re: Tips for a novice golfer...?
I am a 62 yro extreme novice with what seems like a handicap of 72 based on recent play at four Hua Hin cources. The great thing about HuaHin golf for me was the caddies. They have loads more experience than any caddie I've seen arounf Bangkok. I venture to say that at the Majestic in particular the...

Re: Nightlife scene
I wandered Soi 80 earlier this month around 8pm during the week and it was extremely quiet with most bars empty or nearly so. A few exceptions were where there was some sort of party (one close-of-season party). Prices seemed lower than Bintabat area and the few customers seemed to be locals rather ...

Re: Coco 51
My wife and I visited Coco 51 last saturday evening for dinner around 8:30pm. The food was good and prices seemed fair for the quality. A jug of Heinekin was 260Bt which was not bad. I had the pig Knuckle (350Bt) and it was cooked well and cut into bite-sized pieces - unusual but good. What I really...

Re: Hu Hin Hills Vinyard
I visited Hua Hin Vinyards last Sunday around 1pm. It was very crowded. The waiting list for the restaurant was 94 groups, so lunch was impossible. I mistakenly thought there would be a winery to tour there, but this place is the vinyard only with a restaurant and tasting area. Turns out the winery ...

Re: Hello from Bangkok
Many Thanks BB. My wife has booked golf outings for us each day and we hope to check the real estate situation and compare it with Bangkok. I would be interested in any informed opinions comparing living expenses, etc.
