Re: Buying a new Forza or Xmax

We've just tried a few of these 'phat scooters' and settled for the Nmax as the Forza and Xmax were too big and heavy (200kgs) for the Mrs to use casually around town for market runs and the like. However, they're both very comfortable for touring and longer distances for those of a larger frame. Ca...

Re: Which Mobile Phone?

The new device is finally set up after a couple of days of messing around, its never easy as you have to log back into all finance-related apps again and mess around with two SIM cards and phone numbers, and both devices. The biggest issue was the Google account being maxed out. If you have Google B...

Re: TV series worth watching/downloading

Enjoying 3 Body though I feel its a little rushed, whereas the novels were more of an epic saga spanning centuries. Are you talking about Netflix's 3 Body Problem or the Chinese TV adaptation Three-Body ? I suppose that particular criticism is true of the latter also, even though it's far superior ...

Re: TV series worth watching/downloading

Tokyo Vice season two is available for download now on EZTV, so that's on my list. Fallout also in the queue. Enjoying 3 Body though I feel its a little rushed, whereas the novels were more of an epic saga spanning centuries. Star Trek Discovery has just fired up season 5 warp engines ... New Apple...

Re: The journey to a Yellow Book in Hua Hin

I have been here 18 years and have never needed nor been asked for a Yellow Book or an ID card. My wife is thai and the house is in her name and I have a married visa. The yellow book is extremely handy for proving your address, which is becoming more of a requirement everywhere these days ... unle...

Re: The journey to a Yellow Book in Hua Hin

Can anyone recommend an agent who can apply for a yellow book on our behalf. Does anyone know about a Certificate of Residence issued by immigration and if that can be used to open a Thai bank account You could try Anna Visa Services on Soi 94, she does visas, passports, driving licenses etc, so ma...

Re: Songkran 2024 Road Accidents

The holiday is so long this year that the "seven dangerous days" should probably be extended to "ten dangerous days" ... either way, its the same carnage we see every year, and nothing will ever change.

No mention of this in Thailand's propaganda media, which is more focused on water fights and farang witch hunts ... British backpacker found dead in drain on Thailand's Death Island A British backpacker has been found dead on Koh Tao in Thailand, dubbed the "Death Island". The traveller, u...

Re: Thai police require stricter foreigner screening and monthly case reports

I just get fed up with this stupid witch hunt. Yes, they are not nice, but it is petty crime that you'd most probably find anywhere in the world. Of course its wrong, but why is it national news here? More national news about nothing as the witch hunt continues ... real catchy headline too ... A HA...

Re: Looking For New Tablet

Its to do with your Google account, which is a Thailand one. You need to sign in with a UK-based Google account, and the apps will show up in Play Store. I have two different regional ones on my device for that reason.

Re: Which Mobile Phone?

Some interesting data there, 3.5 years is the average upgrade period, 75% said battery performance was the main criteria, and the older you are, the more likely you are to keep hold of it for longer.

Re: Which Mobile Phone?

No chance of that, offspring snap them up in no time. I don't actually need a new phone at the moment, but my son gets the old perfectly functional one because daddy said no to the 15k device he wanted!
