Fingerprints are not enough. They should ask for police record (criminal record). In many Europe countries for marrying a Thai citizen they ask for this police record. This will reduce all this farang shit hanging around.

Re: Subway Hua Hin

McDs is the only tenant in that plaza. Used to have a Subway downstairs and an American BBQ that is very successful in BKK upstairs, its one of those places that cant draw a crowd. And it once had a coffee shop upstairs and a bookshop. I puzzle about why it doesn't work, I just assumed rents are to...

Re: Subway

I was in Bluport yesterday and noticed that Subway which were close to Gourmet Market has gone. Ah, now I know what had chenged whilst in Bkk. I couldn't put my finger on it, but now I know - that overwhelming 'Subway smell' that is the same wherever there is a branch, has gone! I looked at that ou...

Re: Australian biker stuck in Thailand

Australia isn't the force Country to employ this tactic and the UK has done the same, notably Syrian Islamist Omar Bakri Muhammad, who left the UK for a trip to the Lebanon and was banned from returning and to the UK and never has. He's currently imprisoned by the Lebanese authorities. :D

QTE Re: Immigration 24 hour address registration clampdown starts in Phuket Post by RCer » Tue Jan 30, 2018 2:23 pm I just stopped and chatted with Immigration at Bluport about this checkin. As I suspected, something got lost in translation. It only applies when traveling outside Thailand and retur...

Re: Australian man dead after brutal bar attack in Pattaya

Seems the story is forever changing, another witness has said the American threw one 'cowardly' punch and the victim hit his head heavily as he fell and that was that. From a rather confusing report: http://www.news.com.au/world/asia/an-australian-man-has-been-killed-in-brutal-bar-fight-in-pattaya-t...

Re: NHS treatment back in the UK if resident in HH?

I understand from NHS info the year before that medical tourism in the UK in 2016 (which included overseas expats returning for treatment) cost the NHS less than its stationery b But what's the value of it's stationery bill? The Guardian's source document is itself based on work by others who conce...

Re: NHS treatment back in the UK if resident in HH?

More like using common sense not defrauding. I think there are more serious issues out there of defrauding than one blood test a year. Are you so squeaky clean ?? Well, I'm sure you're right about there being more serious issues out there, in fact, I know there are. But it's still a potential fraud...

Re: NHS treatment back in the UK if resident in HH?

You are entitled to free NHS treatment in the UK from day 1 if you are returning for permanent residence. You will also get free treatment in the event of an emergency if not returning for permanent residence. The NHS has been widely defrauded for years, both internally and externally and it's quite...

Re: Hua Hin address map?

I think that some of the newer develpoments in Hua Hin follow a more logical order, at least within the one development. Yes, where I am, it's /1, /2, /3..... But I assume that would be down to the developer rather than any state interference? Or is that not the case? The postman on his bike seems ...

Re: British Embassy in Bangkok To Be Sold Off

It's actually a great deal for the UK. We're talking Thailand here, it's not a major centre of importance despite all the PR waffle surrounding the sale. There's simply no need for such an extravagance in the middle of Bkk anymore, those days have gone. Most Embassy staff are office wallah's, so the...
