Re: Registering a Marriage with The British Embassy

How do you know anything about our circumstances? In fact as my younger brother is dying of cancer she's worried about what happens when I pop my clogs. Anything that makes it easier for her to deal with UK bureaucracy with regard to my pension and assets will help her. And why not. She'll be entitl...

Re: Registering a Marriage with The British Embassy

Thanks for the replies.
A certified translation of the marriage certificate is a good idea.

Registering a Marriage with The British Embassy

My missus has been hounding me over the past few days reckoning that our Thai marriage certificate isn't worth the paper it's printed on back in the UK. I've tried to explain that our marriage is just as valid in the UK as it is here but she's pushing me towards getting it registered with the Embass...

Re: Hua Hin Driving Range

Yes, Black Mountain allow you to use the range if you're playing. I did so last Friday. Sea Pines have a range. As you turn left off Petchkasem it's on the right before you get to the T junction at the beach. Can't remember whether it's before or after the railway line. I've heard that the balls the...

Dunno what's wrong with your connections. Top 5: Moi +45 2675 A Speer +20 2365 BKK Baz +70 2275 adspurs +50 2275 A Amsterdam +35 2270 A resounding second win in a row for yours truly. I shan't mention anything about losers such as BB (he he) who slumped to 10th with zero points this week and a total...

Thanks, Pete. I was fully intending going to Imm for my 90 day report tomorrow. You've saved me the journey.

Re: Golf shoes

Unfortunately, a lot seems to be about protecting the jobs for the people.
So, anything imported is taxed to hell.
It's maybe about time that Thai exports get the same.

As an aside, as an old person now, I intend to get fitted properly next time I fork out.

Re: Thailand Golf Expo 2018 Bangkok

Maybe some deals on the clubs but, at a quick glance, there doesn't seem to a manufacturer willing to go the extra mile and analise a swing.
Mind you, what's an Expo for? Looking, or getting in the right mood to buy?

Re: How can Thailand curb its appalling road fatality rate?

I'd agree with that, oakdale. Not to mention the potential enforcement of a driving ban which would probably hurt a job whether that person is a salesperson, a big wig or growing rice. The economic effects of a ban can be huge - as long as it's enforced. Not to mention the ignominy of it all. But th...

Yeah. Was at golf yesterday and I treated myself to a cart and was lucky I did.
The humidity was off the scale.

Re: Bringing Golf Clubs into Thailand

Agree.
I'll probably head off for a 90 minute fitting session at the Ping factory in Gainsborough and see what they have to suggest. As I'm fast becoming an old codger, I'm willing to take a look at graphite shafts for the irons this time.

Re: Bringing Golf Clubs into Thailand

Thanks for all the replies. I'll do some homework and see what various airlines charge. Although I think I'll get clubs cheaper in the UK, it might work out that with additional charges I might as well get them here. At least I can get fitted in the UK. Good to hear that customs won't be a problem. ...

Bringing Golf Clubs into Thailand

As this is golf club specific, I'll try here for some views first rather than the travel forum. I've never taken golf clubs onto a flight so I'm wondering whether there are any specific airlines that look "favourably" on them, weight allowance wise? As these would be new clubs, to be used by me, cou...
