Re: Shark Attack - Had Sai Noi

I don't have the same level of experience as you, buks, but I've always been led to believe that there are no sharks down this stretch of beach - I mean to the southern islands. Where's their food in a muddy, non-coral environment? Mind you, the things could be getting pissed off at coral bleaching ...

192 water guns nicked? That's going to sort everything out then, isn't it?

Re: How can Thailand curb its appalling road fatality rate?

Read that article earlier and have been thinking about it. By the sounds of things, I could speed a few times, run a red light, be driving off my head on booze and/or drugs and run you over and flee. And I'd still keep my licence. Oh, I forgot, naturally as I'm off my head I just innocently drove th...

Although the body copy is a bit dated now, this link should give the opening dates http://www.tourismhuahin.com/golf-huahin.php

Re: Weather in Hua Hin & Thailand

My golf got rained off earlier on today. It was fine weather at 9am tee off but by the 6th hole a disaster was moving in. We managed to shelter at a drinks stop and then walked in. Luckily, the course gave a rain check of a full 18 holes as long as we hadn't played more than 9. Must admit that that ...

Re: New demands from Hua Hin immigration for marriage extension

I've read elsewhere that a number of other provincial offices also require a witness. Probably by no means all of them.
Agree that Imm should update their web sites if this is indeed an edict from BKK, but there you go!!

Re: New Hua Hin Immigration office at Bluport

Yes, I heard the same announcement last week when doing my 90 day report. If I remember correctly, the lady said that those without proof of address needed to go to the main office.

May?
You could be right but I've always thought the tourist season was drawing to a close during March over the past few years.

Re: Canadians with no visa; can we just pop out of the country and pop back in?

Actually, to be pedantic, it's actually a border run because no visa is being applied for. There is supposedly no limit to the number of times you can do a visa run (to get a tourist or non O visa) but in reality the individual Embassies and consulates will pull you at some stage if you keep doing i...

Re: Canadians with no visa; can we just pop out of the country and pop back in?

The 30 day visa exempt stamp is extendable at Immigration in Hua Hin once for a further 30 days. Cost is 1,900 THB.
After that, you can exit and re-enter by land and get a new 30 day visa exempt stamp (that can be extended as before). Note, you can only exit and re-enter by land twice in any year.

Re: Weather in Hua Hin & Thailand

Yep, Mrs BB has been shaking her purse at it  . Apparently it's meant to be lucky, so we know who will be winning the lottery tomorrow :D Yes, my other half was out there shaking her purse as well. I suppose if she loses the lottery tomorrow (more than likely) there will be some vague excuse...
