Re: Cambodian ladyboys nabbed for robberies in Hua Hin

The wife saw them walk into Binta at the top-end (near temple)..They soon picked up pace when they realised the 2 bars near us had about 15 L/Bs.. wifey also spotted their un-easiness. BUT..Soon after there was an incident at a bar near the temple-end of Binta, & the MiB came in droves (ambulance to...

Thai lady flips pick-up outside Jungle Juice

The law of averages usually says there's no space/room for a vehicle to roll/flip down a narrow St..But.. 2 nights ago a Thai lady sped down the narrow Soi past Jungle Juice..hit several parked motorcycles, & her pick-up flipped onto it's side. But somehow the rescue foundation & the ambulance arriv...

Re: The ever-improving state of Hua Hin's roads

Less than 1 month after laying a lovely smooth new surface at the Chomsin rail crossing..they're tonight digging a trench across to ( I presume) lay the power cable for the new barrier that's gonna be fitted (the foundation/anchor bolts have just been done)... Why O why could they not dig the trench...

Re: New Year's Vehicle Accidents - 2018

So looking at the chart..this years accident figures are same as last year, death-rate is only slightly down on last year, and the injury figure is only slightly lower than last year.. ...Yet again the proven formula of MiBs sat in a roadside tent over the holiday period has done wonders to reduce t...

Re: New Year's Vehicle Accidents - 2018

I read a local report on the seasonal road-accident statistics for this area, & I'm sure the breakdown of nationalities included 1 British person..But as yet have not read any reported accident/fatality on any English-speaking sites..?

Re: Bintabaat shut down at 12.15 by masked police!

MiB came down Binta with their pick-up + lights flashing at ~ 1.30...music stopped, tables in off the St, but after that they went..Everyone then carried on drinking, but in a mellow subdued manner till about 2.30/3.00.  Good that the MiB were not forceful. :thumb: Yes NOKYAI we had...

Re: Bintabaat shut down at 12.15 by masked police!

Jist of meeting is Binta Bar-owners have had to cough up some Baht to provide 'security' at either end of the Soi tonight..The only Thais allowed into the street will be ladies with farang b/fs..No gangs of Thai youths! STEVE G may have touched on the real reason for the early closing..? (Possible b...

Re: Bintabaat shut down at 12.15 by masked police!

The same has happened tonight..! BUT..Tonight the Big-Boss of HH MiB was seen walking up & down the Soi around 11pm (when Binta was bang-full of tourists)... THEN he was there again prior to the closure order.. THEN..Things got a bit unpleasant when tourists were told by bar-owners to drink-up & che...

MiB now wearing masks across their faces due to tourists taking photos of them.
Expect more of this cos the latest MiB big-boss is seemingly very strict..

Re: New Year's Vehicle Accidents - 2018

Looking at the figures..one aspect that never gets mentioned (or even considered) is all the 1000's of drivers that will not turn on their lights till it's pitch black..! :banghead: Every evening (& mornings too) if a driver can see where he's going the lights are off..not 1 of them ever thinks that...

Re: Travel insurance - check the small print..

For 3 years I was well happy with LV's long-stay policy..& they were good at paying-out too...It was only because I needed full cover for mountain biking off-road that I stopped using them..They were the best value cover for my long stay at the time.

Hua Hin farang food prices

Well I'm writing this on the back of the recent posting about HH seafood being expensive.. I'm thinking more about if any of us fancy eating 'Farang food'. There's quite a few facebook pages linked to HH, and various restaurants are freely advertising their specials/ menus..I've no problem at all wi...

Hua Hin's most dangerous pedestrian crossing

Bluport...Pedestrian crossing at the front of it, red lights, two guards who step out into the road blowing whistles.. AND THE CARS STILL WILL NOT STOP! I witnessed a very near fatal incident 3 weeks ago, & yesterday as I passed the crossing the guys in their Santa outfits were just stepping into th...
