Re: Vicious Thai gangs at Songkran

I refuse to watch this video. But what many folk have indeed commented on, & in their opinion is just as bad as the attack itself.. is the arm-in-the-air act of triumph displayed at the end by one of the attackers.

Re: Orbea cycle shop

I was in there last year..yes the bikes are indeed pricey, but I guess you pay for the name. I bought my mtb on e-bay in the UK, rode it, changed parts to suit, then stripped it & brought it over..(so much easier now many airlines are allowing 30kg baggage in economy). On various mtb forums over her...

Re: Minivan, bus and road accidents

Chonburi to Krabi is a fair distance for (I'm assuming) one driver to do..the likelihood of him falling asleep at the wheel, or at the very least being drowsy may come into play here.
R.I.P.those poor folk :(

Re: Richard Walker R.I.P.

So sorry to hear of your sad loss Johnny-lad, & sorry also that I did not make it to Richard's funeral :(
He was a wonderful man, another Hua Hin stalwart.
Deepest condolences from Puy & myself.

Re: Roof Ventilation

I do not know about installation, but if you go to 'Thai Watsadu'..the BIG store half way between Hua Hin & Cha Am..they sell big fans (with a surround) that are designed to be built-in to a wall for about 1,100B..I'm thinking of fitting one, plus a flume/duct above 1 of our roofs to draw in fresh a...

Re: Correct Way to Propose?

Ask her if you can go 'up country' & meet/stay a while at her family home..if your ladys says OK, & you do indeed go stay at the family home..it is seen as if she has invited you there, & that you'll actually be 'on parade' somewhat. Many times after this initial stay then the parents may assume YOU...

Re: Vicious Thai gangs at Songkran

Kate..Firstly, thank you for your concern, yes I'm fine now thanks.. I think what the regulars on here are trying to say is if you're out drinking all night till the early hours..THEN set off 'over town' to your place-of-stay, then please take care..the case in question may have been an iso...

Re: Vicious Thai gangs at Songkran

6 Thai men in custody, CCTV footage has FINALLY been submitted to the court. All these men known by H.H. Mib..all from 'powerful' Hua Hin families... ..I will not say to much here, but the handling of this case has many similarities to what you've all heard about regarding the Kho Tao investigations...

Re: How to get a Thai driving licence

J.J. B..What are you trying to say about all the polite & caring drivers out there..?? 555! What was worth making note of was the fact that nearly ALL the young Thai males in the room this morning FAILED the reaction test!...yet were still given a licence.. :banghead: Also (with me being the last to...

Re: Most people still don't wear crash helmets

Over the last week or so we've all seen the videos & photos of both m/cycle accidents & the smashed cars (that ALWAYS seem to find a tree to smash into..?) In many of these incidents riders with no helmet(s), and occupants of cars not having seat belt on/fastened. Please be aware of when folk get in...

Re: How to get a Thai driving licence

Ginganinja mentoined not needing to submit photos at Pranburi..I think/hope the same applies at the Cha-Am centre...hope so because after having 4 passport-size prints done..HH immigration used 3 of them!
