Re: Weather in Hua Hin & Thailand

What’s the best way of dealing with the current extreme heat.

1. Open all doors and windows and let the air circulate?
2. Keep all doors and windows closed and turn on air con to full?

Going for a dip in the very hot swimming pool doesn't help much. 🥵

Re: Dubai airport (DXB) flooded

Dannie Boy……everybody I met during my extended stay at the airport understood that this was effectively the storm of the century and there would probably be delays or problems in the aftermath. I am a frequent flyer but have no experience of claiming for delays etc. At the beginning of the delays al...

Re: Dubai airport (DXB) flooded

I have flown with Emirates for about 20 years and highly rate them however on this occasion they failed to deal with the aftermath of the storm. Not one person communicated with us and they virtually pulled their website so that it was effectively inoperative. After about 18 hours they cancelled our...

Re: Dubai airport (DXB) flooded

I too was caught up in the chaos and mayhem at Dubai airport after the storm. We arrived at 0300 on Wednesday and finally departed to BKK at 6pm on Friday. The airport went into meltdown. No Emirates staff to be seen, no accommodation offered, no food and an 8.5 hour melee in the connections office ...

Re: Routine expat Blood Donors request

Apparently the under 60 years limit is to protect the donor’s health as red blood cells take longer to regenerate in the over 60’s

Re: Airbnb hosting in Thailand

Further to the original post which I know is quite old now. Renting out via airbnb is a grey area which might/might not cause a legal problem. Rowdy customers or unhappy neighbours could cause the Police to attend and if the owner has not registered the property under the Hotel Act then they might f...

Re: Burn's Night in Hua Hin

Apologies but the quote button does not appear to be working for me. [quote="STEVE G" post_id=590036 time=1705760364 user_id=1540] I once went to a Burns Night in Scotland and it was incomprehensible. At one point, a really bad ladyboy with a ginger beard attacked the haggis with a sword. ...

It might be worthwhile opening a new thread specifically for the funding appeal. This page is for the upgrade and the other one is for an old survey so they might not attract the attention of all.
