I am thai, i do not know SNUS, What is it?
It's a (Swedish I think) tobacco product that you put in your mouth, usually under your lip, and "suck" on for a while.

Re: Where to buy 12 Volt Garden Lights in Thailand

I cannot find 12 Volt outdoor garden lights. I have checked Home Pro, Boonthavorn, etc. But only 220 Volt outdoor lights. Dangerous and uses much more electricity. It's correct that 220 Volt systems can be dangerous if not installed correctly. I don't think you're correct when you say that 220 Volt...

Re: Where can I get spare water tank lids?

Obviously I don't know what your tanks look like so this might be a stupid idea but maybe you could use a piece of concrete tile made for driveways and such as a lid?

And my plan today was to go to Makro, find a tuk tuk, put my wife and weeks groceries in TT and follow it home. Take phone number for future trips. Make sense?
Sounds like a good plan! Did you try the Tuk Tuk number I sent?

And please how, exactly, is one to 'call' a tuk tuk? Find one first and get his number?
Yes, something like that. Or get a number from a friend or neighbour. I sent you a PM (private message) with one number to try.

Re: Top three nearby restaurants north of Cha-am

I don't think so....maybe...we are north of the airport. We are north of the Makro grocery store. Hua Hin is south of us. Nearest address I know is soi 6 where it meets Cana. That is south of us. I would say you live in the northern part of Hua Hin. Much south of what people normally call Cha Am. I...

Re: Dangers of renting a motorbike

I've been to Hua Hin many times, and like you, I hate to be without wheels. I live in the "suburbs", and it just wouldn't be feasible to call a Tuk Tuk every time I want to go somewhere. Therefore, I and my wife always rent a scooter. No that's not true, we rent two scooters. It would be very bad if...

Re: Hua Hin's Finest (police in Hua Hin)

If you give them the opportunity, of course they will fine (or accept a bribe from) you. It's what police all over the world would do. Police all over the world accepts bribes??? I think you would put yourself in a really bad situation if you tried to bribe a Swedish police officer. And I guess the...

Hotels were exempt on their own beach fronts.
Not all hotels or all times. I've been to Anantasila several Wednesdays when they didn't have the sun beds on the beach. Guess if I saw any cleaning going on...

If you don't have PayPal
Or get Pay Pal. You don't have to deposit any money there. You can pay "through" Pay Pal by using your credit card at purchase time.
