Re: Thailand's imported wine crackdown

Expensive wine........a deterrent. Then they have more issues than just Thailand's tax structure. Meetings every night somewhere.... I don't think it is just the expensive wine, unfortunately that is just one item of many and is symptomatic of the general increase in the cost of living in ...

Diane Abbott and Sadiq Khan are blaming "police cuts", while this may be a contributing factor the blame surely lies with the murderers Actually, I think a large part of the blames lies squarely with the PC brigade. How about we stop all the softly softly, nicely nicely nonsense. Kids and...

Thanks. I will consider that closed closed then. I envy you guys over there. All the best and thank you sir. You shouldn't envy anything, until you've tried it for yourself to see if it suits. That green grass on the other side, can often turn out to be quite illusory in the cold light of day. :-|

You may consider it an excellent service, however I would categorise it as a gross and unnecessary intrusion, that is archaic and should be done away with :banghead:

Re: Naebkahart Road Restaurant???

When directions and locations are given on this forum, does it remind anyone besides me of virgins in the pre-Internet era discussing sex? Or the accuracy with a blaster shown by Imperial Storm Troopers? :lach: Must say I was a bit bemused by the variety of responses, but it was also interesting th...

and we will be forced to bite the bullet at $300 nightly for a non view room at the Marriott. Unfortunately it's a combination of it being high season and also the fact that you are booking only 2 days in advance, which means you are going to take a double whammy and get severely clipped. If you pl...

Re: Kite Surfer Dies Off Hua Hin Beach

Whatever the cause of this unfortunate chaps sad demise, be it the weather (and if the beach was closed then he really shouldn't have been out there) or the buoys; as others have intimated, there really needs to be a separation between areas for swimmers and those for kite surfers. "The buoys w...

Re: Kasikorn Debit Card

PIN numbers being extended from 4 to maybe 6 or 7 digits. Of course, not only is that a bit more difficult to remember (getting old these days) but it makes the card useless anywhere outside of Thailand What makes you think that having a 6 digit PIN would render the card useless outside of Thailand...

Renting A House In Hua Hin

We have our house in HH up for sale with an agent, which needless to say is progressing slower than treacle rolls down the side of a glacier. However, the agent has now come to us and said he has a couple (Brit/Indonesian) who are interested in renting the house. Never having been the landlord or te...

"Johnston Lodge in Laurencekirk, Aberdeenshire boasts some 32 acres of grounds, four reception rooms, six en-suite bedrooms, two cloakrooms, tennis courts, a gym and a half-mile private drive with electric gates." I wonder how many thousands of pounds a year it is going to take to maintain...
