Re: Poll: Would you be willing to donate to keep HHF online?

Although I haven't posted in years, I'd contribute to keep HHF (HHAD to me) going.

Re: Expat Poll: Would you consider leaving Thailand?

I went back to the US in 2015 after eight years. The missus followed about 18 months later. I haven't been back to Thailand since January, 2016, and while I don't regret one second I spent there, I don't miss it. Sometime we put up with a lot of hassles to live that relaxed life style. I left becaus...

Re: Thai passport renewal

My wife's passport was renewed about two or three weeks ago by the Thai Consulate in Los Angeles (USA). It is for five years.

Re: Hua Hin and Thailand bomb attacks

http://thediplomat.com/2016/08/whos-behind-thailands-deadly-bomb-blasts/ "If Barisan Revolusi Nasional-Coordinate (BRN-C) or one of its controlled insurgent offshoots is responsible, as many analysts suspect, it would mark a significant escalation in the Muslim group’s 12-year struggle for cul...

Re: 2 bombs explode in Hua Hin town centre

More suspects: Thaksin via Chavalit (I may have the spelling wrong). Not the red shirts, but Thaksin. The Thai Police. As mentioned above, a different branch of the military. The Thai military is not like what we're used to at home. Obviously the nightmare scenario is the southern insurgents breakin...

Re: Mexican food!

We only wanted to help clarify the differences between Mexican and Tex Mex. Many who have not lived down Texas way just do not know. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. We continue to sell large amounts of Tex Mex to our repeat customers. We are now in our eight year selling Tex Mex as well ...

I have eaten at your restaurant twice and sadly I did not enjoy the Mexican food that in was available.

No, what I meant to say was, having eaten Mexican food for almost fifty years, the Mexican food at Terrace 90 is not good.

Re: Moaning about Hua Hin/Thailand

Great post dtaai-maai. Living in a tourist town and pissing and moaning about it is normal. I lived in a tourist town in the USA from 1975-1985, and many of the residents complained. Some time in about 1982 I was at a party with a lot of long term residents, when someone said, "You know, it see...

Re: What's the hottest (chilli) food you've ever eaten?

The hottest thing I remember eating was a whole habanero chili. I was young and eating lunch with an illegal Mexican immigrant worker (a 'wetback' in the vernacular of the time). I ate food that most people would consider 'hot' for most of my life, but it was never about Scovilles or anything. It's ...

Re: Voranai another good article

Good article, though a little contradictory this one. He's calling protestors "emotional retards" today but in other articles advocates protesting and people power to remove corrupt and self-serving governments/politicians. Valid point. I was going to quote one paragraph in reply and ran ...

Re: Linux Fans?

Not really a fan, nor a fan of Windows, Macs or anything else. The missus uses Ubuntu - maybe 13.04? Anyway, the one with 'Unity' - on my oldest, lamest laptop. She's fine with it, and all the little nieces and nephews who visit have zero problems. They run Firefox and play games. Stuck Mint 14 on t...

Re: What food you miss in Hua Hin?

Phad Thai - I can only assume that the restaurant where I ate Phad Thai for about 20 years in the US had their recipe down to a 'T' and it happened to match my taste buds. I don't hate the Phad Thai in Thailand, but I don't like it much, either. The Thai food you get in England would never be the s...
