Yuk - Cold, wet and windy
Surprisingly, the forecast for today has turned out to be accurate, with the winds expected to pick up strength over the next few hours so could be set for a miserable day.

Re: News of the Weird - this just in!

Back to the 78 year old man in the UK who had initially been held on the possibility of being charged with murder, common sense has prevailed and the police have dropped the charges they say following a thorough investigation, no doubt prompted by the huge public outcry - more here http://www.bbc.co...

Re: VPN Recommendations

This thread is a year old now, what is the latest on recommended VPNs? Don't mind paying a little but want something reliable and not built into a browser. I have used Express VPN since November last year, it cost $99 for a years subscription. I use it to access the free to air UK TV channels and w...

Re: News of the Weird - this just in!

I didn’t know where to put this, but I find it weird, hence.... A 78 year old man is being held for murder of a burglar who broke into his house, armed with a screwdriver (a big one can be as leather as a knife) and after a scuffle, the burglar is stabbed and killed by the 78 year old. Seems as thou...

We can laugh and joke now, but when I become Queen, you’ll have to curtsy the same as everybody else.

Thank you. If you have a UK address you can use, then try a Company called GiffGaff - see the attache...

Re: 80 foreigners arrested in nationwide crackdown on schools and teachers

If your white and living in England it's no surprise that you were never stopped, you looked like a native. Seeing as the UK has never had an ID card of any description, stopping people in the street and asking for documents would be pointless. Being white doesn't come into it, where I come from in...

Just looked it up. Feb 1971 was when Decimal currency was introduced.
I can remember when it was 2/6 as in 2 shillings and 6 pence a pint, but this was in the South East where prices would have been more than in the provinces!!

”It would surprise me less if Villa Market were to close that shop, as in fact, the last time I did speak with one of them they were very concerned about Blue Port opening” I guess their saving grace could be that whereas I have always considered VM quite expensive for most things, Blueport food co...

BKK to LHR at about 12 hours is bad enough if you’re traveling economy, I’m not sure I could do 17+ hours non-stop.

I will definitely devote time to learning about all of the places you have listed. You indicate that the places I asked about are tourist traps and fa...

Re: Minivan, bus and road accidents

Crazy thing is, we've just had friends leave us yesterday, going to Bangkok and Chiang Mai next. They've opted for bus, because they don't feel safe flying.. They may have a point as I found this on the internet from 2016. It’s well-known that Thailand’s airlines have frequent issues, and a new rat...
