I live in Southern California, land of the beach. Over the past holiday weekend three local, and popular, beaches were closed due to pollution.

Not just a third world problem unfortunately!

Used to put in sewer and water lines here in California. I was the laborer, and when a new sewer connection had to be connected to a existing (and active) sewer line, well you can imagine. Grouting the connection with chunks of cement falling, and splashing, into the flowing sh*t.... Bean counting i...

Big Boy, and all,

Thanks for the info, very timely for me. Like BB I am planning for the future, my case about 3-4 years. I'm a planner by nature, so the more info I collect, the better.

My wife and I will be out in August, and will also take a look.

Thanks!

As mentioned, I've always read there is no cure for a hagover. Alcohol dehydrates the body, so water helps to replenish. A hangover should be cleared up by 5 the next day (adjust for when you actually quit drinking). If you're still feeling bad it's alcohol poisoning. Personally water, and menudo, a...

I've known quite a few bar girls, from many countries. Many do what they do because it is their only option.

Like anything, if done with a honest attitude, nothing to be ashamed of.

To each their own (as long as they don't force me to watch) but never watched it, never will. My Lady works at Disneyland here and dragged me (literally) to the world premiere of the new pirates of the carribbean movie (only the ceremonies, not the actual premiere whose tickets were $1,500 usd each!...

One of the things I like about Southern California is the many women from all countries.

As I mentioned, my favorite is Asian/Hispanic, but there are many others that will do in a pinch, even the well known California Blonde (as long as she doesn't talk!)

I find it hard to pick by country, so many beauties, so little time (and energy)

Even among the various countries, there are so many differences. Asian women have always held my first interest followed by Hispanic women.

Hua Hin vs Phuket (or others) activities wise

Hey all, Found threads comparing HH to Phuket, with most discussion based upon nightlife, and costs. My question is based on activities. We are looking at retirement to Thailand in a few years. My wife is from Cha Am area with family still there, and land she owns, so she favors Hua Hin/ Cha Am. But...

My Mom died from cancer, and I have had friends also go.

I don't want to be stuck in these group hospitals. I don't need anything fancy, but I'm there to get better, not worse.

I hate the idea of paying for insurance, but I know it's a necesary evil.

I seem to recall having pickled jellyfish before, but I think in Korea, not here. Also sea cucumber that is chopped up, cooked and mixed into a dish with sauce, vegies and other things. Consistency of a sea cucumber and a jellyfish are not that much different. We never get jellyfish on this side of...
