Re: Hua Hin - Pattaya ferry project news and updates
An expert's advice; stay on the top deck in case it capsizes, be a (strong) swimmer without heart problems, check the weather and wind before going, there and back, and lastly it helps to be a fat Brit, they float better.

Re: Can farangs get a firearm licence?
You don't need one here and that's one of the good things one can put in the plus column for this place. Probably only other Americans here would appreciate that. Furthermore having a gun in the house with a Thai wife or girlfriend is a bad idea and if you had to shoot a Thai for a good reason, you'...

Re: Hi all

Re: Why do many expats not bother to learn to read?
Sidthesloth...... We are living in a society where people believe you can place a sticker on your car to convince imaginary guardian angels that your car is a different color; a society where people believe that dolls, bought at toy stores, can protect them from harm. Now, if I could read, write, a...

Re: Why do many expats not bother to learn to read?
What for? As an American, I spent a lot of time learning English and went to England one time, visited Buckingham Palace and again asked, what for? Went back to California and decided I made a mistake and should have learned Spanish.

67 years in the U.S. and never experienced anything like being talked about here. You doom and gloom guys about the US are reading the news too much. I never experienced any of the problems that have been suggested here just as HHFarang said. All you have to do is get fixated with the news and beli...

Re: Buying big size shoes in Hua Hin
Wondering if anyone knows where you can buy shoes in around 11.5 to size 12USA. I believe that is 47-49 UK I am finding most places go up to around 46 and try and jam me into an 11 and that is just too tight. Any suggestions would be great. J-M Wear sandals, I'm a 13USA and go with a Thai 46, which...

Things I do not miss: Having to carry a gun every time I left my property Looking over my shoulder Sitting facing the door when dining out Wow! No offence, but are you unusually paranoid or is this typical behaviour in the US? Not typical at all... I've lived in 4 locations in the U.S., all large c...

Lets be honest, the food sucks here, that's why there's so many Brits here, they're used to it - you would never see the french here. I have wet dreams about deli pastrami or roast beef sandwiches and some dill pickles. LOL

They're going for total lock down of the country, - well as long as they don't execute Americans I'll roll with that. LOL
