Re: Indian restaurants in Hua Hin
And the live music at BKP is so loud that conversation is nearly impossible ...which brings me to my question.... what time does BKP open .... if I went at 5pm/6pm would I be able to get a takeaway or is it that ridiculously early? On Friday most were selling food by 5.00 or 5.15 and Chill Chill Ba...

Re: UK shifts visas for Thai nationals to India
In 1948 when India become free from its Colonial past it was assumed that the English language would die out. But, it was the 2nd language of ALL the educated Indians and many of the less educated too. So that there are many more English speakers in India than in the UK. Aus and Canada together. It...

Re: UK shifts visas for Thai nationals to India
I hope the reverse tit for tat isn't going to happen and we brits have to get visa decision-making centre from Deli also :( Regarding Indians they are brilliant in IT, I remember a colleague in the late 70's was writing computer programs in machine code with a pencil and paper, and explaining to me...

European birthrate diminishing and Asian increasing, As usual, jamjar, you have got it wrong. The birthrate in Asia is diminishing not increasing. That's why, Singapore and other countries are offering incentives to reproduce. Thailand has recently announced benefits for having more kids. As an asi...

If Cook were uncle to my child I'd be telling him to butt out and learn about boundaries.

Good cheap UK style Indian food in Soi 88
I say UK style because the food in UK Indian restaurants is nothing like that cooked (for example) in the UAE by Indians for Indians. I like both styles but sometimes it's nice to get a taste of home (I heard that the chef at Take 5 in Khao Takiap has moved on, so I'm not sure what the taste is like...

Re: UK shifts visas for Thai nationals to India
UK embassies do less and less each year. I think they are practically valueless for most purposes nowadays. In the UAE I had to go to the Indonesian or Malaysian embassy, or a Notary Public to get my signature on a purchase contract authenticated, or to verify a passport copy. The UK Embassy in Bang...

Re: Thais rank low again at English
I would guess it's the no fail scenario within Thailand. I have 2 very Thai granddaughters (one at university) who have excelled at school, and their English grades are excellent, yet I can barely hold a conversation with the eldest, and the youngest is a non-starter. OK, I'm no better at Thai, so ...

Anyone else get an abusive private message like this one I received from a Thai who didn't have the courage to reply in the thread?: +++ [Mod edit: re-posting private messages on the public forum is not permitted] +++ I stand by my comment that most Thais are insular; they have little interest in th...

Re: The computer and software security thread
I right click the .exe and run the program as administrator. Is there something else I should be doing? I don't understand 'if protection is not available to be changed'. InSpectre says: -My 64 bit Win 10 is unaware of either of the two problems. It's fully updated though. -System hardware has not b...

Re: The computer and software security thread
Yes that's what I see. Win 10 is now fully up to day and system restarted but the buttons are greyed out and have been every time I've run InSpectre, so still are inactive. Weird.
I'll check their website tomorrow.
