Re: Fitted kitchens

Given the option to shop elsewhere why did you not?   As for the quality of the kitchen being "Thai made" ? Well firstly you are insulting Thai trade professionals as a whole. They would have been given a budget and worked to it. I have seen hundreds of kitchens here ma...

Re: Fitted kitchens

As i've heard many times (and it does piss my Thai wife off a great deal) "you farangs can afford to pay for it". That said the people who built our development were a Scandinavian/Thai couple and it was still the same attitude, trying to charge us double the cost for some appliances, with...

Re: Oxtail soup

Didn't know it was popular in Thailand - while in Indonesia it's a traditional dish but high in fat content...I'll have to ask the Mrs to make some if she knows what it is...Which parts of Thailand make it? First time i always thought of the Baxter's / Heinz Oxtail Soups we used to get, but it was t...

Re: Back-up Generators

It does seem like it is the same phase that goes down all the time, office area/wifi/security cameras/etc., the wife did call back later to say there was "light coming from the big box across the development" - this is the transformer the developer installed for the houses inside the devel...

Back-up Generators

Hi All For some reason we have 3 phase power going to our house - don't ask me why as i wasn't aware when the Developer was building the house. This invariably loses a phase now and again, and leaves my missus a bit distraught at times. Yesterday was one such incident - i'm working away in my office...

Re: 2011 Cha-Am / Hua Hin Golf Festival

wouldn't mind going along for a few games during the Festival, but not having played in it before i'm a bit apprehensive for the following reasons: 1. I'd term myself as a social golfer - i like to play but don't get upset if i'm playing badly, if i hit a bad shot (or several) i didn't mean too. 2. ...

Reading Board Msgs

Mods/Admins - if posted in wrong section please move - apologies in advance. Not sure if other experience this or not. While reading posts, sometimes it will say 11 posts but i can only see on my screen 3 of the posts. I look for another page but it says page 1 of 1. Is there a way to see these othe...

Re: Competitive, Genuine, Health Insurance

Might have to give them a try when our policies come up for renewal - my wife has a BUPA Thailand policy which is not cheap, and i have a BUPA International policy which definitely costs more per month than my wife's policy annual cost. Will they be able to give comparable benefits to the BUPA polic...

Re: Free Titleist Demo Day - Saturday June 18th

Always wanted to get to one of these events but never seem to happen when i'm in town.
I use the ZMs which i believe precede the MBs and need to get a set fitted for my swing (Iron shafts preferred)

Is there any timetable of Titleist Demo Days around Thailand?

Re: An era of decent affordable bikes for LOS

Was thinking of one of these 250cc's but trading in the PCX but i don't think the garages here are keen in getting 2nd hand bikes back in exchange (less than 1000km on the clock). Incidentally, with regards tests - is there any difference in the size Thai's can drive - i.e. back in the UK until you ...

Re: Land/house ownership problem solved?

When i say "taxes" was based on the purchase price, because we could not do a straight transfer from S-i-L to wife. It was roughly about 7.8% of the purchase price broken down into i) 2.5% for the Seller’s income tax, ii) 2% for the transfer fees, and iii) 3.3% for the specific business ta...
