Re: Opening a bank account which bank?

Soon every bank will be mentioned regarding Best Bank. So here's mine, for whatever it's worth. For 10 years now I've used Krung Thai Bank and never a complaint. KT Bank has an excellent online website and, at least with my branch, service has been spot on. Their annoying number of 'fees' are par fo...

Re: New Hua Hin Immigration office at Bluport

90 Day done at Blu Port yesterday. Not at all crowded (two persons ahead of me) and once my number was called it was done in 5 or 6 minutes max. The young man at my booth was very friendly and efficient. Open at 10am and I would recommend going in the morning. Lineups nothing like the regular Imm of...

Re: Hua Hin to get it's own walking street?

Is it the entire length of Soi 80, or is there some sort of vehicular access to the homes behind? The 'walking only' part starts pretty well the entire length. The access to the railway soi is blocked off. The very first 'cross over' alley is left open and up to now some army-looking guys -- I thin...

Re: Hua Hin to get it's own walking street?

And here we are 7 months after the original OP.
Soi Bintabat is a 'walking street' after day becomes night. Soi 80 is now a walking street on Wednesday nights.
Bintabat needed it a lot, being as narrow as it is. The folks on Soi 80 seem to be quite happy with the experiment.

Re: Current Requirements for Renewal of Retirement Extension plus Multi Re-entry

Thanks, used 5 days so far so pretty hectic few days coming up then LOL Can I get that Non Immigrant O visa online, or in country? From what I've read I have to do it from outside. I'm in HH now. UK passport holder. The retirement visa which you apply for outside Thailand is called the Non Imm 0-A ...

Re: Immigration asking for more info from foreigners

Proof of life is a different thing than proof of retirement money. Before I made the proof of life always at immigration, but 1 month ago I went to Pranburi police station and got the stamp free of charge. Sorry mate, but I don't know what on earth you are talking about. Proof of Life ? Proof of li...

Re: Immigration asking for more info from foreigners

Did my 90 days report 2 days ago. Nothing about more info. But, but they don't stamp anymore your proof of life for retirement money from your country. That's because you don't need to show your income (or money in a Thai bank) when going in for your 90-day. It's simply not a requirement. But don't...

Re: Immigration asking for more info from foreigners

I have lived in Hua Hin for 9 years and I have never once heard mention by any farang who holds a Non-Imm visa (and that's a lot) speak about, has heard about any such info-document or any knocking-on-doors investigating by any members of the Thai Police. Since the beginning of 2016 I have had three...

Re: Dental Implants

Has anyone had implants done at HH Bangkok Hospital? I had one implant done at Bangkok Hospital (HH) and am extremely happy with the result. Not cheap at about 60,000 Baht but that's about half the cost in Canada. The whole process took some time from initial appointment until 'everything finished'...

Re: HH Immigration Dept moving location

... and back to the topic of Immigration moving: stupidly, went out to Imm 2 days ago (wild goose chase), and, equally stupidly, forgot to ask about the Imm Office moving to the downtown location.
Has anyone, very recently, heard that this move is happening? Or otherwise.

Re: Extension prices at HH Immigration office

The URL provided by Roel is OK, but could easily be a bit confusing for newbies to Visa-Land.

To save confusion: ANY extension to a held, unexpired Thai visa of any kind will set you back 1900 baht. The length of the extension is irrelevant.

Re: Where to buy Shocks and Springs in Hua Hin?

There is a place out on Petchkasem just north of town in the area of the Toyota dealership, and on the same side of the road. My partner bought some very heavy duty new shocks for his Toyota Vigo pickup just recently. Very good quality, and excellent service. I can't remember the name of the place r...

Anybody know of a good moving company(s) .... ?

.... or a guy with a large truck for hire? One big enough for regular large load of household furniture. Largest items are things like refrigerator, sofa, beds. Largest and most cumbersome item is a pool table. Lots of smaller stuff of course. So the truck would have to be one of those larger (caver...

Here's a website which has a price breakdown for various dental procedures, as well as some contact numbers and addresses for some HH dentists. Not sure how old the info is, but it seems pretty up to date using the prices for a cleaning mentioned above. I assume the prices are an average, rather tha...
