Re: Political un-rest and rally

I thought this an interesting article from the Guardian by a Thai (national) scholar currently based at Stanford(?) University in America. Also worth trawling through the usual comments in response to the very last and a link to an interesting article from the Wall Street Journal. http://www.guardia...

Re: Political un-rest and rally

I have noticed the Red supporters on this forum have been quiet... I wonder if their views of support have changed in all that has unfolded, or is it much of the same excuses? With respect, you have your views and all that...... Who here has supported the violence, thuggary and general moronic beha...

Re: Political un-rest and rally

You say that we choose our propaganda, I disagree, the propaganda chooses us. There are different levels, methods & forms and the main goal of the successful media is to get the message out. Are you talking about advertising or news reporting? I appreciate your viewpoint, but I think I'm old, w...

Re: Political un-rest and rally

I get the impression we pick and choose the propoganda we like? I think most of the coverage has been reasonable in what are very difficult and dangerous situations to report in. Maybe the beeb is still aware of the 'lesse majeste' stuff thrown at one of their own? Sky, at least, covered the tanker ...

Re: Influencial factors on political viewpoints in Thailand

None of the categories really fit the bill for me. My wife will begrudgingly admit to preferring the reds, but won't discuss it, whist at the same time being a devotee of the King. She has openly said she doesn't like my views! :( Most of the little I know is from seeing with my own eyes the dispari...

Re: Political un-rest and rally

Caller, Maybe you yourself are divided on something that as a foreigner should not be doing. I know you said not worth replying to me, but you have an interesting point here. I on the other hand dont think any/many here are PAD supporters, though I can see a few RED supporters, IMO only, prove me w...

Re: FA Cup

Well, the news is just in that Ballack is out of the World Cup, because of the 'savage challenge' (ITV commentator) by Boateng - the guy that missed the penalty. This was just retaliation for an incident a couple of minutes earlier and he should have been sent off for the challenge. You could see th...

Re: Political un-rest and rally

Here's the guy shot in the leg. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sXxqfNtdYTM&feature=player_embedded To me, the best articles are in New Madala and certainly the article on a 'massacre'. But it will be hated by several here! An interesting question that might be explored is how and why this mess h...

Re: Political un-rest and rally

The beeb website now even shows a guy being shot in the leg in slow motion!!! Is that the guy who's setting fire to tyres or the one who's trying to set fire to a petrol tanker? Does it matter? Can you post the video, I can't even find it now? Heres another one from Sky, check the video out and tel...
