bar owners beware

There have been a few instances lately where hua hin bar owners have been attacked late at night by 2 Thai guys on a motorbike brandishing a large lump of wood. There seems to be a pattern to the attacks, indicating its the same gang. Just a word of caution; be careful, wear your helmet (even at nig...

Doesnt sound good although this has happened before. They're mainly targeting Bangkok, its a little more relaxed in Hua Hin. Most bars here have 'lock-ins' anyway whereby the shutters are down, music is off but theres still cold beer in the fridge

Hi,
I will leave your URL there as it is a good source of information but board regulations are not in favour of threads concerning Thai politics or Royalty.

Hi and welcome to the board,
Most of the expats that live in Hua Hin are on tourist visas (30 days). You must leave the country every month to re-new it. The visa run is a trip down to Ranong to re-new the visa on the Burmese side.

Hi, Chiva-Som is a holistic health resort, and a very expensive one at that! Take a look at their website for more details: http://www.chiva-som.com A one/two bedroom house within 2km of town centre should cost between 4,000 and 7,000 baht per month furnished. Pets are no problem but keep them insid...

Hi and welcome to the board. In answer to your first question there are several gyms that all offer membership: Grand Sport, Hilton and Palm Hills prices range between 1 and 2 thousand baht per month. Secondly there are many foreign couples that live in Hua Hin so you should have no trouble finding ...

HI and welcome to the board, Last time I looked the rooms were a bit shabby and in need of decoration (6 months ago). The Star Planet disco gets very busy and noisy at weekends so it will probably disturb you if you're on the lower floors. Jed Pee Nong and Sirin are both centrally located, decent pl...

Best bars in Hua Hin

I've had a lot of inquiries into how the bars are rated on this site. And in all fairness they were justified, no bar can be rated consistently as no two nights are the same, people change, staff changes etc etc. So here is the chance for you to have your say; what are the best bars in Hua Hin in yo...

Hi, welcome to the board!
You can get taxis anytime of day (maybe a little harder to find at 3am though!) and the fare to Cha-am is 200 baht or thereabouts.
Cheers.

welcome to the board! As far as I know the only way to get to Pattaya is through Bangkok. Hua Hin airport is now closed and there is no boat connection unless you charter your own one. "from what I read that Hua Hin is something like Pattaya was 10 years ago" Hua hin is probably more like ...
