Re: Thai law prohibits foreigners from driving passengers.

I agree with everything you are saying, and it most certainly hasn't stopped me carrying passengers. However, it is an 'unused' law that they have dragged out of the closet for this one occasion , when it suited. Who knows when the next time might be? I'm thinking more down the lines of estate agent...

Re: Thai passport renewal ... 10 years?

Yes, exactly why I'd have gone down the same road as you. In my wife's case, the Embassy didn't want to renew, so I followed their advice. However, I did check with the airline first - they are the ones with the power to say no.

Re: Thai passport renewal ... 10 years?

after checking the person we were speaking to, confirmed that the passport also needed to have 6 months validity on the date we return. Just posting this in case anyone might be in similar circumstances. I would dispute this. although if it was me, I'd have most likely done what you've done and ren...

Two women found shot to death in Hua Hin shop house

Two women were found dead in a shop house in downtown Hua Hin on Sunday, in what police suspect is an accident or murder attempt by one of the women, who then committed suicide to evade the criminal consequences. The deaths of the two women, the 63-year-old owner of the shop house and her 46-year-ol...

Re: Companion dogs

Yes, our dogs live outside also, with a couple of exceptions e.g. New Years Eve when they are terrified of fireworks and extreme weather conditions, basically to keep them dry. Going back to joelle's post, when we moved here we inherited a Rottweiler. She was a fantastic dog. Very faithful, and very...

Re: Cardiologist

I would suggest you visit Dr. Polpat at the Heart Clinic, Hua Hin. He certainly used to be recognised as being very good (one of the best). https://www.huahinheart.com/en/

However, I've not used him, so can't give any recommendation.

Not me, The Bangkok Post. Now, would a newspaper change the wording to dramatise/grab attention/sell newspapers?

The thread title was taken from the link, which was quoting the law.

We already know that Thailand has a law for everything, but they just aren't enforced. Therefore, it surely is a fact, but not enforced.

I've just received the following e-mail. Just sharing in case you haven't picked up on it. Hi there, There's just been a significant update from F1 regarding this weekend's Saudi Grand Prix as Ferrari's Carlos Sainz has been ruled out with appendicitis and requires surgery. Sainz will be replaced fo...

Re: Thai law prohibits foreigners from driving passengers.

I can envision the Thai PM calling frantically from his meetings in Paris telling these people to dial it all down a notch now for fear the entire tourist market will get wind of it and add it the "Thailand hassle factor" list. The way they are making stupid examples at the moment, you co...

Re: Thai law prohibits foreigners from driving passengers.

That is the way I thought about it originally. However January and February was a particularly busy month for me with many visitors. I picked them up from the station. and took them to their hotels, I took them around various sites, and several events. What is the difference? Surely I could be taken...
