Re: A bit of nostalgia (Motor Show 1968)

For anyone into cars of that era, I see there is a Japanese classic parked outside a business near the new immigration office.
I only saw it on passing but I think it's an early 70's Celica GT.

Re: Campers, Camping and/or a Van?

^Yes, campers are ridiculously expensive in Europe, new ones start at around 60,000 euros and many are way more than that.
The only difference is that there is a second hand market there but even 10 year old ones aren't cheap.

Re: Mustard

Has anyone seen tins of powdered Colman's in shops in Hua Hin? I don't even see it on Lazada or Shopee. I prefer to mix it myself for a real kick, and a jar anyway has lost its magic by the time I've used half of it. In Tops at the bottom of soi 88, they have small tins of Mcgarrett mustard powder ...

Re: Companion dogs

^Yes, our dogs live outside all the time, they have plenty of overhead cover from the rain and sun.
The only time they ever come inside is if they get really scared during heavy thunder.

Re: Companion dogs

..... And think about getting two, rather than one, so I won't be so very lonely waiting for you all day. Eight or ten hours is just a workday to you, but it's an eternity for me to be alone. I never had dogs until I came to Thailand but we've had eight of them over the last twenty years and that i...

Incidentally, the last time I saw the Colemans English mustard powder, it was in the old shopping mall in town but that was a while ago.

Re: A bit of nostalgia (Motor Show 1968)

In the late eighties, my girlfriend of the time bought a 1952 Austin A40 Somerset from a friend, which I thought was a really dumb idea at the time, but we had some fun in it touring around. ( Slowly! ) It was a very friendly looking car and everywhere you went, someone would come up and have a chat...

Re: A bit of nostalgia (Motor Show 1968)

My Father worked in the motor industry for his whole life and I have memories of going to Motor Shows at Earls Court as a kid. It would have been a bit later than that, early to mid seventies and also at the NEC Birmingham in the late seventies. I remember seeing the Lotus Esprit from the Bond movie...
