Re: TOT Fibre 2 U

When the TOT guy installed my new twin antennae router following my upgrade to 15 Mbps he mentioned that fiber optic was due soon. Next month was said but TIT so I will not lose any sleep waiting for it.

Re: Khao Noi - Roowamsook who is best internet provider

As our local TOT man has been very helpful and will be round pretty quickly whenever we call I am giving them a chance and getting the service upgraded to 15 Mbps. At least they were honest and said that I could not get their 20 Mbps speed here. He also said that fiber optic is due in this area next...

Re: Buying a SUV?

Collected my new Navara earlier this week and am expecting to wait two months before the plates arrive. I have been given the book that goes with the red plates (first time out of three cars and many bikes on red plates) Well impressed with Nissan Pranburi throughout, much more customer orientated t...

Re: Buying a mid-range family car; Hua Hin's dealerships

Just picked up a new truck at Nissan Pranburi. Would recommend paying them a visit as the service I have had has been excellent. They worked hard to sell the truck and have followed up since collecting it earlier in the week. Much better than the service we had from Toyota Hua Hin where I bought a V...

Re: ‘Luverlee Motor Jon’……..Or………Pimping that ride.

My 50th anniversary Vios had skirts and wing put on prior to delivery. It makes it look a lot more pleasing to the eye even if it means I have to reverse it up the ramp to the house as the front spoiler catches if I drive it in. The basic Vios looks very plain. Have just added a new 4x4 Navarra to t...

Re: Hua Hin police check: driving without licence and passport

As usual what started out as a useful thread informing us that the local MIB are doing what they usually do has descended into a points scoring "my country is better than yours" set of exchanges. Can we try to stick to the topic and if you want to argue over home country politics start ano...

Re: Hua Hin police check: driving without licence and passport

A mention in one of the posts was made about driving licences. As I understand it the only acceptable licences here are a Thai licence or an International Driving Permit. Own country licences are not accepted such as. UK licence even with its EU endorsement. Not sure if ASEAN home country licences a...

Re: Electric extension cords

There are definitely two grades of extension cords available here and I have ditched the cheap ones as they are very poor quality. A bit of bent copper to contact the plug which after while needs to be bent back into shape. I am sure I have seen the same Chinese made multi socket extension leads tha...

Re: "The Over-Development of Hua Hin and the Consequences

Like others I started living here over twenty years ago and there have always been floods when we get relatively short torrential downpours. The development of HH has just spread the problem most likely due to a reactive rather than proactive system. Houses get built, water supply eventually reaches...

Re: Khao Noi - Roowamsook who is best internet provider

Asking around I get positive responses about 3BB, negative about TOT and nothing about True. I believe in using sound data before acting so will check things out and report back.

I will look into that. At the moment even the phone line has a lot of background noise which makes me think the TOT exchange is in a puddle.

Khao Noi - Roowamsook who is best internet provider

I have had TOT for a few years now and have got fed up with the speed slowing to a crawl at weekends or just stopping. Lately this also occurring mid week which may be due to the weather. It is time to change to something better but I know that the speed varies depending on your location and distanc...

Re: 2nd hand motorbike shop in Hua-Hin area

If you can afford it buying new is much better as it is rare to find a bike that has been properly maintained. HH as Jameswest says is expensive. If you want second hand then It is best to expand your search. Perhaps Pranburi or look in Petchaburi which is not too far to ride back from even on a sma...

Re: Looking for a used vehicle

Possibly the classifieds here, bahtsold.com or the Facebook Hua Hin buy and sell groups. Not too much online but plenty of roadside places around although unless your Thai is very good it would be advisable to take a Thai friend. Be careful as maintenance and regular servicing is something that seem...
