Re: Electric Vehicles (EV) Thread
I can refuel them pretty much everywhere within a 48Km/30 Mile radius (maths good enough for you Nereus" :duck: ). Good boy, near enough! And so is your rant! Once it is figured out how Nikola Tesla was going to transmit electicity through the air without wires, then we can all drive an EV! :c...

Re: Canned rabbit, once a dinnertime delicacy
My late Thai wife knew the owner of an Angora rabbit farm in Thailand, as she used to deal in the skins. I was never able to find out what became of the carcass, as she would not entertain eating one of them. Wild rabbit was a regular dinner item growing up on a farm in Oz. I used to both trap and s...

Re: Car auctions
Geez, I give up! It has nothing whatsoever to do with what "my brother" did, or how many auctions you may have been to! What is being conducted here with these "auctions", is a DISPOSAL sale. Forfeited, or confiscated property, is being sold by a government to try and recoup unpa...

What about Palau? Visa on arrival, direct flight from Singapore.
Some good diving sites around the island.

Re: Car auctions
Pretty much every auction (cars, antiques etc.) I've ever attended - UK, US, France and even Aus on one occasion will have a multitude if not the majority of items having a "reserve" (or bottom price if you wish), so I'm a bit lost at that comment - I need to go to the auctions you do obv...

Re: Rug Cleaning
Does anyone know where we can get a largish rug (3m x 2m) cleaned, preferably in Cha Am rather than Hua Hin, but of course we’ll be happy to go to HH if there isn’t such a facility closer. TIA Here's a couple: https://mrcleaninghuahin.com/professional-carpet-rug-cleaning-service/ PROFESSIONAL CARPE...

Re: Traffic jams on Rama II Road blamed for Hua Hin's decline
I believe that was the main reason for building a train line? Is that correct though because the train line from Samut Sakhon to Samut Songkhram is stand alone. The main line goes inland a bit e.g. Bangkok to Hua Hin trains pass through places such as Ratchaburi. Yes, mainly because at that time th...

Re: Traffic jams on Rama II Road blamed for Hua Hin's decline
At the risk of going off topic, although it is still the same road today, the following just shows how it was back then. In 1955 / 1956, 6 young university undergraduates from the UK made an overland trip from London to Singapore in two Land Rovers. Incidentally, Sir David Attenborough sponsored par...

Re: Traffic jams on Rama II Road blamed for Hua Hin's decline
It is also interesting to note that during the 2nd WW the Japanese landed on the east coast well to the south of Bangkok, because there was no road from the capital to the south. (Singora as it was then called) Songkhla now.

Re: Traffic jams on Rama II Road blamed for Hua Hin's decline
Here is what Wiki has to say: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rama_II_Road Rama II Road was built during the government of Field Marshal Thanom Kittikachorn with a total budget of approximately 419 million baht and was officially opened on 1 April 1973. It was named "Rama II" in honor of Kin...
