Re: A Green Sea

I have never seen the Green sea but one thing I noticed when I go into the sea at Hua Hin, when you come out your trunks stink. I noticed this last February and again in early December, I am not sure if it is the general sewerage that is deposited into the sea and the tide brings it in. My trunks ar...

Re: Can you reccommend a quiet hotel in Takiab, Railway exce

Thanks Guys, the Takiab Beach reort hotel looks just the job, prices seem to vary on the internet, maybe a good idea to ring them or pop in nearer the time.
I will stay monday to friday so that should help with the hotels regular Thai customers who like weekends.

Thanks for the links Lev, unfortunately the guesthouse link is not working but he Chomtawan seems one of the cheapest.
I will probably stay in Takiab mid-week as prices will be lower.

Re: Night life in Khao Takiab

Jim just rents Oasis and the Thai guy owned the freehold also lived behind Oasis, certainly put a damp squib on sing along night.
Beach hut, Bob and Noks and Beer o Clock were all very quiet, probably will be very busy over the hoilday period.

Re: Night life in Khao Takiab

There was a hit on the Thai man who owns the Oasis on 30th November, he was on a motorbike with a TG on the back about 200 yards from the bar when he got shot and sadly died.
2 Thai men were caught the next day.

Re: Jings

Peter was away in England to see his sick father, he returned to town about the 23rd November with very long hair, I told him to get it cut and he now looks much smarter.

Re: Hua Hin Swimming Pool

Can you pay a daily fee to use the Hilton pool ?

If not I suppose you could buy a Cola and sandwich(if they take cash) and loll about until the staff get used to seeing you, then hey presto:)

Moonsmile and Platoo restaurants

keep it quiet  On Poon(l)suk road at the end of Bintabaht is a posh italian restaurant, directly opposite is an outside eatery called Moonsmile and Platoo. The food there is fantastic, the prices are great and the service is good. There is one down side though, it gets very busy between 6pm...

Around Cabana Beach and Sairee Beach near the Novotel look pretty nice areas of Chumpon, both a bit out of town though.

Re: Weekend Trains HUA HIN to CHUMPHON

The 1715 train possibly will lose time to Chumpon, but I went on the 1115 am train? once and it went like Usain Bolt, I think it had arrived 45 late in HH and but only about 10 minutes late in Chumpon. A big problem with the 1300 train from Bangkok, it has about 16 coaches, and passengers waiting at...
