Re: 'How To' - Requirements for visa extensions etc
Ever since we've had to get these credit advices, mine from Kasikorn have always looked like the ones that were not accepted. In fact, thinking about it, the girl at the bank messed things up last year in as much as I went back the day after ordering everything and she hadn't done the main advices c...

Yes, well done Pete.
I had a purple patch about 75% through the season which made my final standing look good. The rest of my picks were pretty abysmal.

Re: Flights to/from Thailand status, news, and updates
A good price. I booked a return in mid March, departing early May to Stansted with Emirates and got 36,000 THB which I was happy with.

Re: Photo Trip Report: Down the Mekong in Cambodia
Great report. I've enjoyed it immensely. Purely by co-incidence, I've just seen this article in today's Guardian. Haven't read it yet but it's obviously not a glowing report about development for tourism in a certain part of the country: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2023/apr/11/everywhere-is-br...

The one close to me is closing from 2-5am.
Don't forget that Lotus is now owned by the same business family as 7-11, Macro.

Re: Thai Driving License renewal 2019-22
Do it the day after your birthday, and get an extra 12 months. I've never understood this point. So, if my birthday occurs after the licence expires, does that make it legal to drive on the expired licence? My birthday is in August but my licence, admittedly already expired but I was an internation...

Re: Thai Driving License renewal 2019-22
Caller, The site you linked to wasn't the one I used. This was though: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.DLT.SmartQueue&hl=en&gl=US Obviously, it's an app. Must admit my wife called one of her nieces who talked us through things but it was pretty easy to manage and book an ap...

Re: Thai Driving License renewal 2019-22
There was no need to watch any video or answer any questions when I was at Pranburi last week. I also noted that on the DLT appointment page, under docs required", there was mention of a dress code but on a second reading it seemed to just relate to when you're doing a driving test. I turned up...

Re: Thai Driving License renewal 2019-22
I was asked to show that I'd made the appointment on my phone as I got there but whether that got me any faster service or whether it was even necessary, I've got no idea. I just booked it. As far as the video was concerned, there was no need to show that I'd watched it online. There was simply no m...

Re: Thai Driving License renewal 2019-22
Got my 5 year licence yesterday in Pranburi. I'd booked an appointment between 8-8.30am on the DLT app which also listed the documents I needed. They were: Original 2 year licence Passport and copies of details page and Non O visa/extension Letter from Imm and copy Doctor's certificate That was it. ...

Re: Thai Driving License renewal 2019-22
Thanks for the replies. But I note that the link BB gives says that the e-learning test is required whereas HHTel says it's not. Anyone got any definitive answer?
I also didn't take the theory test for my first 2 year licence as I was getting it off UK and International ones.

Re: Thai Driving License renewal 2019-22
I need to update my licence from 2 to 5 years and have got an appointment with the Pranburi office at the end of the month, booked through the DLT Smart App. The app gives a list of what I need to take which is: 1. Original 2 year licence 2. Passport with photocopies of relevant pages 3. Immigration...

Re: E-books and e-book readers
Looking at the wikipedia entry for zlibrary, I came across Anna's Archive as an alternative. Have just downloaded one book from there but have had no success afterwards although I haven't spent much time on the site. At first glance, the library seems extensive and says it incorporates zlibrary as w...

Re: Thailand plans to decriminalize cannabis
This new regulation seems pretty straightforward to me. It's right here: The new regulations will now classify the cannabis flower bud (but not other parts of the plant) as a controlled herb Forget the rest of the blurb. Basically, recreational use is now forbidden. That's what the whole edict is ab...
