Re: Wuhan Virus Precautions

Thanks pharvey for your post.

Together with the Washington Post article on the Coronavirus thread (posted by J.J.B) they are the only articles I've seen anywhere to date that were worth reading...

Re: Mosquito spray called

While you're searching... you could try the cream sold in 7-11 in a small orange and white or pink and white plastic bottle - for B55.

I have used this for six years now. 100% effective.

Not for the first time, laphanphon appears to take a cheap shot at anyone who is financially less well off than himself... (from behind the anonymity of the internet again, of course)!

Please stick to taking your beautiful photos of birds.

Re: Call a Thailand landline from the UK Cheaply

https://www.telestunt.co.uk/#t - Currently quoting 1p a minute to a Thai landline.

I used Telestunt on a weekly basis from 2009-2013. The call quality was good enough, but occasionally you had to hang up and re-dial.

(I made a point of calling on weekdays around 0700 to avoid business users).

Re: Retirement Visa Extension and Transferwise

(As previously mentioned), I gave TFW another go and transferred my Dec. pension a few days ago. I paid by UK Nationwide debit card and Kasikorn received the money instantly. This time I made certain to state that the cash was for "long-term stay in Thailand." With some trepidation I reque...

Re: Retirement Visa Extension and Transferwise

Good question,BB. I'm not absolutely sure I did. I think I'll give TFW another shot for this month's t/f.

BTW, have you got a 100% sucess record with Kasikorn when you quote 'Funds for Long Stay in Thailand''?

Re: Retirement Visa Extension and Transferwise

(Sorry to read about your recent experience, M Wright) Following problems with SCB who I understand are not one of TFW “Agent Banks”( i.e. Kasikorn, BB and TMB) I transferred my account from SCB to Kasikorn. Having made my first pension transfer a couple of weeks back, yesterday I visited a very hel...

Re: Retirement Visa Extension and Transferwise

I was just wondering...?
Has anyone been refused their Retirement Visa extension solely because they were unable to supply a full set of Credit Advice Receipts? If so, which Thai bank was involved?

Re: New Book Shop - Blue & Yellow

N, yes you were first with the story - I merely wanted to give the shop a plug as I like to try and promote businesses that are passionate about what they do + will hopefully be useful to other Forum members. P.S. The Owner said he wanted to arrange some advertising - I suggested at the very least p...

Re: Blue & Yellow Book Shop - Update

I haven't been for a long time as I felt the Blue & Yellow Book Shop had "died a death" e.g. books just thrown on the shelves = impossible to find anything... Visited today and had a pleasant surprise. Shop now owned by an Italian guy and his Thai lady - both who spoke very good Englis...

Re: Retirement Visa Extension and Transferwise

Thanks for that BB.

Thinking some more about it there's no reason why I can't take all the docs. I've got and attempt to extend.

IF that fails, then my only Plan B is to leave, come back and start again using Bangkok Bank.
