Re: Doomsday List

I think its a good idea. I deal, at times, with a spouse that was unfamiliar with family finances when the other dies. They are lost and need help since they have no clue. Compound this with the foreign rules and it can be a chore for the unknowledgeable.

Re: When was your last time outside Thailand?

Interesting to read. As I budget for retirement in Thailand I plan on a trip back to the states yearly. I know as I get (even) older I may not want to, but my two kids are here so I figure I will visit them, or send them some money to visit me.

Re: Movies on DVD

Don't know if it's available yet for download but just saw 47 RONIN and was pleased.

A mix of story, action and some mysticism mixed in.

After an action scene with Keanu Reeves Mrs M turned to me and said scornfully, "He's not gay" then went back to the movie

Re: Money exchange

How much better rate do you get on average by exchanging cash compared to withdrawal with a Visa card in an Aeon Bank ATM? Is it worth the hassle and security risk? Where we go it seems to average around .3-.4 so not huge but my wife likes to get her monies worth! Hassle for us is nothing, I have m...

Re: Money exchange

but you have to pay 1 - 2% to buy them, which wiped out any advantage on the exchange rate. I used to use Travellers Cheques all of the time and never ever paid the bank one penny for them. I think it depends on the bank and your account. Last time I asked for TC's the bank said no charge due to my...

Re: Organic food/restaurant in Hua Hin?

Hi Maria As far as organic food is concerned, I think you'll just have to forget the idea altogether while you're here. It honestly isn't something the Thais give much thought to at all. We were growing almost all our own herbs and vegetables at one point, but since we rarely get municipal water he...

Re: Knee Problems

I was also told that an injection of something was available that would help pending full surgery, any ideas as to what this might be and how to get it? You are probably talking about synvisc which I was told would delay surgery/pain up to six months. I researched on my own and decided not to. Like...
