Re: Scuba diving in the Hua Hin area

There used to be some at koh Talu but I think they have closed You can still dive at Koh Talu, in fact there are two better islands called Koh Sing and Koh Sang with better coral (photos in that thread above). Last time I was at Thung Wua Laen the only place offering diving was the Cabana Resort at...

Re: Scuba diving in the Hua Hin area

My, that is an old page, unfortunately HHAD is no longer affiliated with any dive schools so contacting them won't help. The bottom line is that you cant dive in Hua Hin (unless you like looking at mud in 500cm visibility)! The closest place with clear water and coral reefs is Koh Talu in Bangsaphan...

and at least 250 cc engines. So they can't have been going that fast then. From what Buksi has told me that is not exactly a big bike. Since you have bought my name into this thread with another sarcastic remark allow me to retort. On the the scale of production bikes available a 250 is a relativel...

Re: 3BB and CAT blocking torrents

Ok SM, I'll give those a go from now on.

C88, the torrent sites work fine - its just when it comes to downloading something (with ABC as the client) using 3BB it just sits there doing nothing. I try the same torrent with another provider and bam - down it comes!

Re: 3BB and CAT blocking torrents

Cheers for that, both sites tried to install an xvid player (I already have a perfectly good one), and the third one directed me to register for file storage and download services. I don't really want to watch it on the web page as the connection is too slow for streaming and I like to keep a downlo...

3BB and CAT blocking torrents

Downloads seem to have ground to a halt on my 3BB connection - I was looking for an uncensored version of the latest episode of Spartacus: Gods of the arena as all you get on True Visions is pixelated edited crap. So I punched it into Google and this was one of the results: http://wiki.vuze.com/w/Ba...

First impressions suffer as airport immigration queues grow

234329.jpg The tourism industry is facing a headache during this high season, with travellers having to queue up for extended periods at Suvarnabhumi Airport's immigration section. "I had to wait at the airport immigration counter for 70 minutes," Joseph Greiner wrote to my mail box on Ja...

Has anyone built a terrace with Shera wood? (if so would they mind posting a few pics).

Mrs Buksi has been told it marks very easily and can be difficult to clean so now she wants tiles...

Re: Filthy Beaches in Paradise City

But I think I would be pretty p..d off if I had children at a school where they were spending valuable - and in Thailand much needed - class time cleaning up beaches which other folks have messed up. Granted it might make them more aware of the real issues. But does the ordinary Thai on the street ...

Re: Filthy Beaches in Paradise City

Its one of my pet hates, we have similar problems in Bangsaphan where 90% of this crap is just tossed overboard from careless and ignorant fishing boat crews. At certain times of the year the ocean spits it all out and the beach looks like a rubbish dump. bangberd.jpg Beach cleaning and environmenta...

Re: An era of decent affordable bikes for LOS

I'd hardly call a 250cc a "big bike", just as I'd hardly call myself "middle aged" (though sometimes it does feel like it). Someone likes their sweeping generalisations  Back to bikes for those that love em, does Yamaha have anything in the 250 bracket? They seem to jump fr...

Re: Water Storage Tank - How Big?

While we're talking about water tanks, is it ok to bury one? I don't like those big blue unsightly things above ground so we were thinking of getting one of the round ones and burying it. DO we need to reinforce the hole with concrete or can they just go in the ground?
