Hi dave, welcome!
I think I just emailed you, anyway there are a few bars in the plaza area and one or two Thai style night clubs in Cha-am. Try this site:
http://cha-amnews.com/site/index.php
There may be more info there.

High season is often harder to find a place (november to february). You should be okay after songkran. Deposits are generally one months rent extra (dont get fooled into paying more as some landlords may insist on).

Hi and welcome to the board. It is quite possible to live on that amount, providing you stay off the sauce. Have you considered renting a house (can be done for 3 - 5k per month)? Alternatively All Nations guest house has cheap, quiet rooms and its very central, they will also do monthly rates. Spea...

Hi and welcome to the board, The amount you specified works out to around 26,000 Baht per month. You could probably live reasonably on this providing you're not too extravagant. A furnished house can be rented from around 6,000 baht per month, food costs are very cheap if you can eat the local stuff...

Your best bet is to walk around and see which bars take your fancy. The nightlife area in Hua Hin isnt that big so it wont take you long. What you give the girls is entirely negotiable, it depends how much they like you :thumb:

Hi Mark, welcome to the board. I can't help you with the first two questions as I don't have kids and I don't know what land prices in Pattaya are like. I can tell you though that shopping here is pretty dissapointing, the nearest proper department store is Big C in Phetburi (an hour north). We have...

yep, its been a bit damp here lately. Friday night poolsuk road was a raging torrent, U-turn bar flooded for Craigs birthday, people were surfing across the railway tracks on the waves and rivers that had just formed. Pranburi river burst its banks, Phetburi is under 2 metres of water ... i'd bring ...

Should be in the region of about 1,000 baht for a full day. Depends where you want to go, I would avoid regular taxis as their english is pretty poor and you'll end up going round in circles all day.

Hook up for a beer, arrange a venue, time and brew here. Arrange visa runs, trips to Pattaya or whatever you fancy.
