Re: Is 14 nights in Hua Hin too long?
hhfarang whilst i agree with most of what you have said, just a couple of positive points for Hua Hin , we dont want people to get the wrong idea do we? 1. Best golf courses in Thailand 2. Lowest amount of rainfall in Thailand, great year round weather 3. Constantly rated in the top 10 locations in ...

Re: Buying a new laptop
have a chat with the salesman, i know this is Thailand but they may be able to assist with some product knowledge, or else you do the research yourself. When selecting a CPU i3 is dual core/smaller cache and no turbo boost technology, i5 and i7 are quad core and in the i7's case double the cache, an...

Re: Buying a new laptop
if you buy a laptop with i3 cpu and 4GB i wouldn't count on doing too much multitasking, even average users like myself usually have 4 or 5 browser windows open, MS Outlook open and the occasional word document or spreadsheet. You will find that if you are running MS windows of any versions in parti...

Re: Buying a new laptop
Hi Sounds like your laptop requirements are fairly basic like mine, which means an i5 2.8GHzCPU/8GB RAM and a 256Gb SSD Hard Disk should be fine for the next few years. As always you cans spend a few more dollars for higher CPU/RAM/Hard drive but from your usage above i don't think its warranted. Wh...

Re: Khao Takiab for Lunch
Agree with BB La Mer has a lovely location, and great seafood, but better at night. Supatra by the Sea is also very good, directly adjacent to the beach, looking at Khao Takiab hill and the holden buddha, a little pricey for Takiab, but excellent seafood. There are soo many good seafood restaurants ...

Re: Hua Hin Tuk Tuk minimum prices
are there really that many cheap charlies living in Hua Hin, FFS try and pay for a taxi back home and then start complaining:) In Sydney and Melbourne if the taxi drivers suspect its your first time in the city, they will take the longest route to get you to your final destination. Thats some fucked...

Re: Hua Hin Tuk Tuk minimum prices
Agree with the above post in BKK there a million taxis and they are cheap, in HH there are not many taxis and the tuk tuk drivers can charge whatever they think is a fair price, especially if its high season and late at night/early morning, its up to us to negotiate and if you think its too much, po...

Agree with BB, Soi 94 has a vast range of dining options, some cheap, and some a little more expensive.

Re: Oil Slick puts Hua Hin Beach at it's dirtiest ever ?
hhiner
At the northern end of Takiab beach the rock wall is being extended and a commercial pier being built to accommodate the new Pattaya>Hua Hin Ferry terminal. Construction started back in January this year, i believe it should be completed mid next year.

Re: Oil Slick puts Hua Hin Beach at it's dirtiest ever ?
nil » Sat Dec 26, 2015 12:02 am Had a walk along the beach just south of Takiap today. Quite a depressing site...so many foreigners on sun loungers and at the beachside cafes but the beach itself was covered in what looked like plastic sheets or bags covered in oil and black globules on the sand. Ev...

Re: One year back
Happy to hear that you made the right choice, as life is ultimately about choices. I have only been living here now for 6 months in Hua Hin, and yes there are plenty of strange customs to deal with, but i am far happier here than i was in the concrete jungle of Sydney, Australia. I feel safe when i ...

Re: SIM card with a years validity.
Just a quick note if you are changing your SIM card, when you change SIM's you will LOSE ALL contacts/SMS etc that you had on the old SIM, you need to make sure you store ALL your contacts on your phone not your SIM, so when you change SIM cards, your contacts are retained.

We have them in Oz, dont think Thais would be able to afford the car, let alone the fuel required to keep them running!
