Re: Thailand tourist slump continues
The wife and son usually go to Thailand during the early part of the year for 2 weeks and all of August each year, but Covid has put paid to that. She’s resigned to the fact that this will go on possibly for all of 2021 in some form or other. So we will endeavour to get her family to the UK on 6 mon...

Re: Cookin Corner
I make Sprout from time to time. I steam a kilo of sprouts for 5 min, no longer, keeping a few cooked sprouts aside for garnish. Re: Monsoon Valley entrance charge
If I was going there to eat and the Baht 200 came off the bill then I wouldn’t mind, but if they also hiked their food and drink prices I’d vote with my feet.

Re: 50 years on (except Hua Hin)
17 years old, crammed into our sitting room with several neighbours, watching it live. The tension in the room was palpable and you could have heard a pin drop. I seem to remember my first year at school in 1957 aged 5, a very nerdy teacher had some sort of monitoring device that picked up the Sputn...

Re: UK apartments lure Thai buyers with deals
I find that very surprising, especially when rental values are taken into account.
Any half decent apartment in, or near the city will bring in a very good monthly rental. Even if he left the property empty, he’d still make money.

Any Non Woven geo textile would do the job.
Not sure what is available in Hua Hin, but I expect it’s easily available there.

Re: Perforated Drainage Pipes
fft100 I would definitely consider installing a permeable fabric. I’ve seen many French drains and it’s usually the ones that haven’t got it installed, are the drains that fail.
