Agreed no need to sell from 7/11 or other retail places. Anyway had a nice dinner at Ibis in the end and although not everyone liked the...

Buddhist Lent restaurant recommendations

Hi all,
Just hoping for some recommendations for restaurants selling food and alcohol over the next 2 days. Any suggestions except the usual 5 star hotels?
Thanks

Re: Dog Meat Trade in Thailand

Sorry pharvey, I wasn't fishing but simply stating that we shouldn't resort to uncivilised eating habits regardless of our opinions on dogs. We are in the 21st century even though living in Thailand. Lets just kill every fat falang who gives us grief and trouble

Re: Is Living Here Difficult for You?

Living here is like being a non-existent person. You can spend money but that's about all. No rights, no residency, no inclusion. We are basically aliens to the local Thais. I myself like the privacy and lack of intrusion but many get frustrated with being an anonymous being and without input to the...

Re: When was your first visit to Hua Hin?

2009 - But went to many places before and finally found Hua Hin. Not the greatest beaches but truly love the place. Always back and grows on me more and more

Re: Best beaches round the HH area ??

The beaches you speak of are not close to Hua Hin. 20 - 30 kms is a fair distance. Sam Roi Yot is nice but nothing around and takes a 1.5 hr round trip. As mentioned no nice beaches in or around Hua Hin. Possibly up there with Pattaya as the worst

Re: Best beaches round the HH area ??

There are no nice beaches in or close to Hua Hin. Full of horse crap, jelly fish and polluted. Don't go Hua Hin if looking for a nice beach

Will the restrictions apply to only Mon and Tues or for the entire 4 days?
Regarding Bangkokians, about 15 of them with bags tried to get onto the baht bus today.
I was tempted to ride on the roof

True that - why can't the junta crack down on pointless mobile phone usage? Perhaps it could bring back happiness

Are Thais tolerant or indifferent?

Sometimes I feel they're being tolerant with all that goes around them and then other times I think they're just indifferent. They have to contend with so much but mostly take it in their stride. That is, political situation, having to speak different languages with tourists, etc
