There are public non air-con busses that run up and down Petchkasem road between Cha-Am, Hua Hin, and Pranburi. In Hua Hin there are motorcycle taxis, pickup taxis (but no metered taxies like in Bangkok), and the baht buses which are green covered pickups that run up and down the main road between H...

pump update

After running around town I found (the last from any place open on Sunday I think) the plastic replacement part and I called "crazy88" and got some good advice about what may be causing the problem and how to fix it. Thanks very much '88! :thumb: Thanks for the other answers and numbers as...

Thanks for the answer Lev. I did check the business directory and those are adverts rather than recommendations, plus I didn't find any listing for people like my example (electricians, plumbers, A/C repairs). I have a broken water pump right now that is somewhat of an emergency and I have a thread ...

Thanks Steve, It was more of a hard plastic screw with a large head for hand tightening than a diaphragm and the pressure built to the point of blowing the head off the screw. Most of the Thai hardware shops I know are closed on Sunday so that leaves me HomePro which I haven't found very useful so f...

Hua Hin Yellow Pages

How about a permanent thread for services in Hua Hin? Every time something breaks around the house I find myself in a panic trying to find a trusted repair person (or any repair person) without a yellow pages like we had back home. It should not be a free for all but maybe the admins could keep it o...

Demand water pump problem

I have a Mitsubishi 305 demand pump for the house water needs. It started running for (apparently no reason). I heard it so I went around the house to see if any taps were open and they were not. I went outside and the pump was spewing water around a black plastic screw-in mounted just above the Mit...

Good to know about Honda Hua Hin. I bought my CRV at Pranburi also before Honda opened in HH. I have always gone to Pranburi for service and last time they're (only?) English speaking employee whom I always dealt with was no longer working there. I was thinking about trying out Hua Hin for future se...

"How reliable is this information"

Not very, but strong in the local rumor mill and when they leveled such a large area I believed it.... ice rink, huh? Wonder how many Thais ice skate?

To the Thai Disney answer, that rumor's still alive and well too, but now its in Cha-Am, not HH.

Big C Hua Hin

Land has been filled, ground broken, and steel stacked in place in preparation for building the Big C on the east side of the highway just south of the flyover (near the petrol station).

Dark Knight

Sandman (and all you other Batman freaks): I saw "Dark Knight" yesterday at the Imax theater in Bangkok and it was awesome... this is the only way to see it.... definitely worth a trip to Bangkok... and empty your bladders before it starts because it's over two hours long. Great flick, gre...

"hhfarang, what part of "limiting the discussion" don't you understand?"

Buksida,

Now that one of the HHAD sponsors has printed a report on the incident, will you tell them to limit their discussion as well?

The firebombed car mentioned belonged to a couple who live up on Soi 88 and were some of the main contributors to a now closed thread called "code of conduct in the property market". I don't want to start up that argument again because the administrators would probably close this thread to...
