Re: Euros 2024

More interestingly, I've heard UEFA TV is free before, but whenever I've tried to use it, I've been told not available on the free service. How do you get it to play live footie for free please? I've always just used the app - either on my tablet or (more usually) on my MiBox 4 (Android TV OS). It'...

Re: Thailand Censorship Thread: tilting towards Chinese-style internet controls

I’m wondering if this is headed to something like the Florida book banning where one person can complain and an item will be removed. Turned out that a small number of people had instigated all the banned books. There's no sign of that. This is all central government-controlled censorship of media ...

Re: Hua Hin hospital special medical clinic

A word to the wise, as they say - if you've been through the Premium/Special Clinic and been referred for surgery, when you come for the pre-op clearance, go up to the 5th floor first just to check what you need to do. I didn't, and on the advice of the information desk at the main entrance went str...

Re: Electric Vehicles (EV) Thread

Which is why I said that CURRENTLY prices are 50% more expensive - I accept that the gap will narrow over the coming years and at some stage EV’s should be cheaper. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I don't think you have to look too far into the future - in fact that stage might already be here, ...

Re: The 90 Day Report Thread

Has anybody made a successful on-line report recently - I applied yesterday and my application is still showing as “pending”? Probably as yesterday was a bank holiday there might be some delay 😕 Surprisingly enough, since it was a national holiday, I got my approval on the Monday itself. Someone wo...

Re: Electric Vehicles (EV) Thread

I'm really intrigued by the prospect of the increasing use of Sodium-ion (Na-ion) batteries for EV's. Using sodium instead of lithium avoids a host of problems. Sodium is for instance, vastly more abundant, much cheaper, causes much less pollution to produce and provides much safer batteries than li...

Re: Is Netflix Dying?

I must admit, I do use my mate's password to access it on his account. But to be honest, I rarely use Netflix and certainly wouldn't pay for it so won't miss it. The movies are all 5-6 years old at least, but there are a few docos and the odd original that are worth watching. I can download ...

Re: Weather in Hua Hin & Thailand

Nice bit of rain again today. Not as heavy as two days ago but once again, it was preceded (and accompanied) by a nice cooling breeze which has lowered the temperature noticeably.

What are the Premium Clinic times?

Re: TM30 Slip in Passport

When I visited Hua Hin in December I went to the Immigration Office to complete a TM30 form (though confusingly they gave us a TM28 form to fill in). Now I have a paper slip in my passport which says "Receipt of Notification". Is there any reason I should leave it there? Or remove it? As ...

Re: Bangkok Hospital huahin

Thank you for both replies the problem being that they contradict one another. As a question: if it does deliver mail how would the nurse feed the mail to it. Not from the front as that would cause it to swerve away. Possibly by sneaking up behind it after a short chase? Does it look like the image...

Re: Electric Vehicles (EV) Thread

Seems to be large swathes of Thailand without any cover. Khon Kaen is a major city in the NE and that seems poorly covered. I am sure it will improve in time, but right now, your obvious enthusiasm isnt really matched by the reality. I also recently drove in stages, from Hua Hin to Khon Kaen and ba...

Re: Electric Vehicles (EV) Thread

Good thing we, some live in TH, as not a problem, yet, except weekends if you don't reserve or plan well. All the negative post about EVs, all seem to be not in TH ... just thought I'd point that out, to avoid the wasted bandwidth But can you easily drive around Thailand in an EV? As far as I can t...
