Re: The Wine Thread

That could be because Tesco/lotus is now just lotus (part of cp group - 7/11 etc) and they don't stock tesco own brand any more (earlier on this year they had a big sell off off Tesco label products at really good prices).

Re: Vaccines - Covid 19

As we're looking at vaccine comparisons, this looks similar to the chart I saw on Thai TV this morning. thai comparison.png How many days after the second or third injection was this comparison made ? We know that the antibody count reduces over time. Research in the UK over the last few months sho...

Re: Coronavirus Precautions/News/Updates for Hua Hin/Prachuap

How many people work in the Dole canning factory ? Another 223 cases today after weeks of cases. Must be herd immunity in there by now ?

Question is whether low cases elsewhere in HH are because there really are low numbers or is testing being cut back (as reported in Bangkok last week).

Re: 10 baht coins

Check other self service laundry places. The ones I have visited have a change machine on the wall. Put in 20/50/100 baht notes and the 10 baht coins come out. Just like Vegas :-)

Re: Coronavirus Precautions/News/Updates for Hua Hin/Prachuap

That was the same approach that Singapore took with migrant workers who caught it. They locked them in their camps until it had passed through. It meant no/low risk of passing it on to others in the outside community Here, if the workers are living in compounds in the factory, then keeping them ther...

Re: Effects of Covid-19 on Education Worldwide

It appears to be upto schools whether to open or remain online. Nothing official from the governor. Which is surprising and a lack of taking responsibility. The close proximity to the pineapple and chicken factories in hua hin and the high no of cases in Phetchaburi seem to have led some schools to ...

Re: Forum coverage of Covid-19 information

I find all the info useful.. Big Boy table provides the bare bones info and historical trends. Joelle provides a drill down as to where the numbers have come from. Knowing that nearly all the cases have come from poultry or pineapple factories is good to know. If we had 45 new cases and none were fr...

Running Ethernet through the house

Hi, I have 3BB fibre, but even with extenders their are a number of deadish spots, or where the internet is unstable. I also suspect that conflicts are ocurring on the 2.4ghz band and the distances are too great for 5ghz to work using repeaters. What i would like to do is introduce mesh. To be preci...

Re: ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK Movies at Hua Hin Cinema

According to the site https://majorcineplex.com/cinema/major-huahin there are 4 films on today (Godzilla, Mortal Kombat, Nobody - great movie). None in English language. However, there are no listings for Sunday or Monday. Perhaps they are taking it day by day as they didnt get much advance notice.

Re: Buying online from Lazada

now I am waiting for the refund. That is where the fun begins. They will put it into your Lazada Wallet. However, dirty, smelly, Covid ridden Farangs aren't allowed to have a Lazada Wallet. You will need to contact customer services to request they transfer the money to your bank account. OK, a bit...

Re: The Bitcoin, Blockchain, and Cryptocurrency Thread

With most cryptocurrency being used for drugs, money laundering and the likes,.I can see central banks imposing a KYC (or similar) requirement on CC issuers. Otherwise the destabilizing risk is far too high. Swiss bank accounts had to open up. I don't see CC companies getting away with it forever. T...
