love it

Post by carol »

2005 December We first came to have a look at the area because we thought the property was cheap and the golf was good just from what we had seen on A PLACE IN THE SUN. We loved it, it was just what we were looking for. We put a deposit down on a house and became members at Palm Hills all on our first visit....

post Tsunami

Karl and I were eating breakfast (at midday as usual) up in Chang Mai and he noticed our Phuket guesthouse on TV....which now was a wreck.....so we decided to come here instead of returning there as planned.

Two days of peace and tranquility at Koh Takiab and my mind was made up....

here I am.

First Visit

Post by living in los »

My first visit was around 1998 +-,cant remember the exact date but we were at the opening night of the head rock bar,and i believe sawadee resturant just opened also, the hilton was not there and we stayed in the Sofitel.
Only a few bars were opened
Was really a very quiet place then and ideal for lying back and watching the world go by.
There use to be an Angus steak house and there were only the 2 golf coures open then, there were a lot of expats there working on the new golf courses.

first visit to Hua Hin

Post by Willis »

we chose Hua Hin because we read it was not as commercial as Pattaya and Phuket and as we have two boys decided it would be better for them, be going again! loved it

I first visited Hua Hin in 1998 my gf was a Thai socialite and we stayed at a beautiful 4 bedroom beach villa owned by the manager of carabaan (Thai Band) It was so quiet in those days but remember there was a night market. Have now settled in Cha-Am.

First visited in 2002, soon after I arrived in LOS. Have been coming back on and off for weekend getaways. I have since had the chance to see more of the region and have stayed in places from Cha-am to Chumpon! It's a great area of the country, lots to do and see.

Cha-Am is a lot quieter and okay if you have a car. I have a young son so it is nice for him and my wife likes a quiet area. We visit Hua Hin for shopping and entertainment but eating in Cha-Am is great with lots of reasonably priced restaurants. A nice place to relax.

First time visit in Nov 2005. Bought a condo after 2 weeks, and has been a 'part-timer' ever since. Never regretted my choice.

After several visits to thailand I went to Huahin in december 2008. Loved the place and bought a house in jan 2009 (actually in Cha-Am). Now I am hoping to be staying here 3 month per year untill I retire - in about 20 years from now - or until I winn a couple of millions in lotto.

Well actually my wife bought the house (off course with her own money as the goverment requests... ). She is thai so it was not very difficult. I believe that she made a good deal since she got the price down form M5.3 to M4.1. Right now she is building pool and a guest wing so the final price will be about M6.1 for 200 square meter house on 500 square meters of land.

We saw other houses with the same size at lower prices, but this is where we felt that the value for money was highest - and we just love this place and surroundings.
