What's with the young chaps in Blue Port who stand at the door next to the "metal detector" ?

Is is indeed a metal detector ?

Every time I walk thought it, the machine emits a few peeps, and yet no one checks my bag ... and I have been going every day for the last 5 days (since I discovered Dean and Delucca frappes, hmmm)
They have them in Market Village too. I usually walk around them no questions asked.

The thing is - every time I walk through it (most days) - it makes a noise ... and the young chap looks at a flashing light ... is it a warning as to the contents of my bag (iPad, etc) or a warning to my BMI ?

Maybe it is warning the security guy that there is a hottie coming in so he better check you out.

Just noticed earlier that brekky is available at Blueport from 8am at the stores by the front entrance, starbucks, coffee club and two others. Free parking at the front of the store (I guess that means to the side), from 7am - 10am. And no, I have no idea why parking is available an hour early.

at 8.25 this morning, Starbucks was still shut and coffee club was still cleaning the machines. The free parking had red cones on both sides of the road. I ignored them.... Then had to do a U-turn through cones to get back to the main road ! Someone may have put the ads out, but they havnt thought the implementation bit through yet :-)

Market Village is better organised earlier (unless the front is being used for concerts). Starbucks and I think Macdonalds open earlier and have more customers.

Or I didn't read the signs right. I'll check again later when I pop in.

The signs state that they're open for breakfast from 7am. I haven't been there at that time in the morning to verify if they're actually doing it or not.

The signs state they are open for breakfast from 8am and car parking is available from 7am - go figure! I have the leaflet in front of me. Earlier, I spoke to the nice lady at reception who speaks excellent English with an American accent and she seemed shocked when I told her what fft100 had reported. But anyway, the shops open for brekky are Dean & Deluca, Starbucks, The Coffee Club and the Thai noodle place that is near Dean & Deluca, but on the 'isle' with the water running around it. Parking is at the front, somewhere!

Just a word of warning for anybody who might be thinking of having a late lunch/early dinner in Bluport and would possibly fancy a beer or wine with their meal; all restaurants bizarrely observe and strictly enforce no sale of alcohol between 2 and 5pm!

I still prefer MV. Force of habit I suppose, BP does not offer anything extra things that I need. I do think that BP has had the effect of waking MV up, for instance their produce section is much more attractive and Tesco staff are more helpful.
