Funny, but Thais who eat Swede and Parsnips at our house are usually tasting them for the first time - maybe its down to the way they're cooked.
Could not get to local market due to rain but they have parsnip at Macro, pretty expensive, have bought at Dinosaur market in the past, wife says the Swedes on sale are a type of yam.

LOL, its the swede substitute I'm really interested in. Thank you anyway.

If you get the chance anytime in the future, a photo would be really helpful.

HHH&B are in the supermarket chilled meats counter, near the butchers and next to the dreaded TGM.

I'm glad someone found the pies, I looked at the freezer full of sausages and assumed that's there slot and that they weren't selling them! I'll have a mooch around next time.

I do believe the signage will be improved.

I purchased a large packet(?) of London Pork Sausages ( 1o items) which cost Bht175 ie same price as at Head Office. Best value sausages in HH
Well if that's the case I'm happy to be proved wrong - I could clearly see the price of 70 Baht for one of the types of sausage, but the unit figure wasn't so clear but looked like it was 100 gms making it 700 for a kg.

If only they could have built something like this it would have been worth visiting. A bargain at QAR5.4Bn (US$1.5Bn/Baht52.5Bn)
The Mall of Qatar - http://www.mallofqatar.com.qa/en/home.aspx

When it opens in December 2016, MOQ will have over 500 shops, including 100 food and beverage outlets. More than 40 retailers are new to the country, such as Cheesecake Factory, Pottery Barn and Hamley’s toy store. There’s also a “Signature Carrefour” built to resemble a village market, a 19-screen movie theater, and a $25-million miniature children’s city.
MOQ is located next to the upcoming Al Rayyan World Cup stadium, and a hotel operated by Hilton is in the works.

Of course if you are Gay don't visit, Indians enter through rear door and don't expect to get a Leo anywhere.

I love Qatar

So what we live in Hua Hin ?
If we start comparing with the world Malls' what is the point?
Of course BLUPORT is not that special but it improves what we have at the moment and that is surely the point?

Only if you think that it "improves what we have" and all things considered I'm not sure that it does. Indeed, for me it does not.

I think that you have to ask females about whether or not it "improves" what we have. it's women who do most of the shopping and are interested in places like malls. I went there once and unless there's something specific that I need I won't go there again, on the other hand my wife could probably, quite happily, live there.

the one advantage for me is that i won't have to go to Bangkok to buy anything.

Well I'm happy that Hua Hin gets new attractions and shopping malls. It is up the each and every one to go or not, but to have the opportunity and selection is nice. I frequent MV quit a lot, and I will probably do the same with Bluport. When I shop, I go and get what I need, and leave. If it's not shopping I think it's nice once in a while (for me and my wife several times a week) to go to the shopping malls and eat in nice air conditioned environment.

But each their own. I haven't been back home yet to Hua Hin, but I'm really looking forward to and happy that we got another big shopping mall in town. Hopefully selection of goods have now improved and we don't have to go to BKK always, and maybe in time it will tighten the competition so prices may go down after the opening hype of BP has winded down.

I was in MV at lunchtime yesterday, it was quiet but by no means deserted, the 2 food courts were busy, perhaps less thana month ago but again not deserted--What do others think?

I was in MV on Sunday afternoon and it was very much quieter than before on week ends. There were a good number in the Food Court but not so elsewhere.

We like the new mall. For one its closer to us as we live down Soi 102 and can come down the back streets. The kids entertainment venue is awesome, both thumbs up from my son. Also the shops have much more selection of quality goods. If anything its a bit cold!!

Yes, I would agree. It seems quite upmarket. The food store in particular has many tempting offers. I could not find the pie shop and neither could any of the food hall staff but I know where it is now after reading a post above.

I asked mrs M if she wanted to go to see Bluport and she said no, maybe another time. I was happy.
