Three headed elephant statue near Makro?

Happened to drive through the tessabaan parking lot today and saw a broken up three headed elephant ( fiberglass evidently) over in a corner. I thought it looked like the monument near Macro. Sure enough, coming home I saw that it WAS the statue that used to be under the golden arch near Macro. The platform for the statue is still there and looks ( going north) undamaged. The arch looks as it always has. Anyone know how the three headed statue came to be damaged? Just curious.
