Re: Hua Hin Water Jungle in 2014?
Yeah seems like a 3rd Waterpark is hitting Hua Hin area in 2 years period
One is functioning at black mountain and 2 more on the way Santorini and this one. Does it mean more fun for our kids? you bet! Its about time to go rob a bank and buy an apartment in condo cross the street since prices will go above any freaking limits. The price for a condo in Hua Hin = price for a whole village in neighboring Myanmar.

Proud Real Estate Co, owned by the Liptapanlop family, is spending 3-4 billion baht to develop a tourist attraction in Hua Hin.
The 35-rai site is near the InterContinental Hua Hin Resort. Of the total investment, 800 million baht is for a 20-rai jungle-themed water park, up to 2 billion for a 400-room, three- or four-star hotel, and at least 1 billion baht for a residential condo project.
The Vana Nava Hua Hin water park began construction in June and will open in the second quarter of 2014. The hotel and condos will be completed in 2016 and 2017 respectively.
"We will focus our investment in Hua Hin because we believe the seaside resort town will become a true world-class tourist destination like Nice or Cannes," said Proudpud Liptapanlop, managing director of Proud Real Estate.
Ongoing infrastructure programmes, including high-speed rail from Bangkok, the Southern Motorway and the arrival of international flights at Hua Hin airport, should boost tourism considerably.
Hua Hin now welcomes 3 million tourists a year.
"The Vana Nava Hua Hin project will not only help increase tourist arrivals to Hua Hin, but also raise the country's tourism competitiveness with other Asean attractions such as Marina Bay Sands in Singapore and Legoland in Malaysia," said Ms Proudpud.
The Vana Nava Hua Hin project is the third project under Proud Real Estate after it diversified from construction to develop InterContinental Hua Hin Resort in 2009 and Bluport shopping mall in Hua Hin last October.
Canada's WhiteWater West, a water park specialist, is designing the park for Vana Nava. The firm has worked on over 5,000 water park projects around the globe, including Atlantis in the Bahamas and Dubai and Lotte World in South Korea.
A49 Group, a leading resort design firm, is the architect for the theme park, while Belt Collins International (Thailand) is the landscape designer.
The company expects 500,000 visitors at Vana Nava Hua Hin each year. Tickets will be 600-1,000 baht. The company expects to break even within five years.
In addition to Vana Nava, the company plans two or three mixed-use projects in Bangkok and upcountry this year.

Vana Nava water park to make a splash in Hua Hin
VANA Nava Hua Hin Jungle water park will debut in Hua Hin come end-October, hot on the heels of the Cartoon Network Amazone water park that is due to launch in July in Pattaya.
“We decided to open a water park in Hua Hin because the attractions are not diverse enough in this leisure destination,” said Usa Boonchalakulkosol, director of sales and marketing at Vana Hua Hin.
The one billion baht (US$30.7 million) integrated development is split into three phases, with the water park marked for the first phase while an InterContinental Hotels Group property and a 400-room residential condo are slated for the second.
Located in Hua Hin city centre near InterContinental Hua Hin Resort and Cicada Market, the 3.2ha jungle-themed water park boasts over 19 attractions designed by Canadian water park specialist, WhiteWater West.
Highlights include Thailand’s first Abyss slide, a surf shack with a surf simulator, a 1,600m2 wave pool, a multi-level aqua course, a 345m lazy river and an events plaza. Other facilities include an open-air concert venue, F&B outlets, massage pavilions, souvenir shops and lounges.
Besides catering to families and leisure vacationers, the water park can also be used as a corporate teambuilding and events venue, with the Tree Top Lounge and VIP Event and Meeting rooms available for private rental.
When asked about the similar product coming up in Pattaya, Usa pointed out the different strengths in each attraction. She said: “Hua Hin and Pattaya attract different market clientele, and we also view more water parks in Thailand as healthy competition.”
While pricing details are still not available at press time, Usa affirmed that the attraction’s management is already devising plans to package the destination with Hua Hin hotels and offer incentives for travel consultants, in addition to organising media/trade fam trips and participating in travel trade shows to drum up awareness of the new attraction.

The Cartoon Network place is not really in Pattaya, but a 20 minute taxi ride south near Nong Nooch Gardens. Pete

Is this going to float or sink? Better situated than Black Mountain, it could survive but we are a long way from looking like Nice or Cannes right now. The youngster is certainly looking forward to it. Pricing will be key.

As opposed to floating must and Venezia, well thought out, good location, premier consultants. It looks as if it might be a leader in the water park business. Could dramatically change that end of town.
1500 visitors a day certainly would.

I predict that by the end of 2016 92% of Hua Hin will be entirely composed of Floating Markets, Water Parks, and Speed Bumps!

Oh yee of little faith! Live your life in the negative and that's what you get. Live your life in the positive and 'who knows'.
For the record, I wish everyone involved, 'Bon Chance'!

Well it will certainly kill the thread about living on 45.000 baht per month.
