Drove past there a couple of hours ago. There were loads of people at the top of one of the rides (is that what they're called at a water park?). I can only assume they were testing the ride.

With the general confusion at the end of soi112,[A ROUNDABOUT,WHATS THAT?], the traffic will have to find its way to the new water park, obviously it is going to be totally organised/monitored by the traffic police who have plenty of time as the centre of town is running so smoothly these days!!!!!!!!!!

The highly anticipated Vana Nava Hua Hin, Asia’s First Water Jungle, a 1bn baht world-class leisure destination from Proud Real Estate Co., Ltd., is ready to open its doors to the public on 1st December 2014. Partnering with 4 business leaders, the water park hopes to bring in over 300,000 visitors, and many more to Hua Hin city, within the first year.

Not unlike the water park itself, the press conference was held in a refreshing manner at Siam Paragon 4DX theatre, where press and partners had the first glimpse of the 20 rai (3.2 hectares) entertainment complex through the Journey To Discover Vana Nava, a 4D animation film.

Ms. Proudputh Liptapanlop, Chief Executive Officer of Proud Real Estate Co., Ltd., the visionary leader behind the project, commented, “We set out to create one of the best family leisure destinations in the region. Together with our partners, who all share the same vision, we want to redefine “family entertainment” with some of the world’s best and greatest slides and attractions, developed to the highest safety standards and using the most updated technology, while promoting the surrounding community and preserving the existing ecosystem.”

The total investment capital of Vana Nava Hua Hin stands at 1bn baht. The waterpark is well equipped with Thailand’s most exciting rides and slides from WhiteWater West Industries, based in Canada, the world’s number one in water attraction products, who have supplied equipment to over 5,000 waterparks around the world in the past 30 years. The park’s highlights include The Abyss, Thailand’s largest slide and Vana Nava Falls, which towering at 31 meters is Asia’s tallest manmade mountain waterfall, as well as LED lighting in all the pools. Mr. Brian Walker Smith, Vice President of Sales, SEA, of WhiteWater West Industries commented, "Vana Nava Hua Hin is destined to earn a reputation as the “Best waterpark in the Asia Pacific Region.”’

The park has invested heavily in park safety, advised by a leading aquatic safety and risk management consultant from the USA, Ellis and Associates, as well hiring a well-seasoned General Manager, Mr. Mike Fijas, with over 27 years of experience in the business and also the former Chairman of the World Waterpark Association Safety Committee. It will also be one of the most efficient waterparks when it comes to water usage, with only 3% of its water lost from the system. Thanks to the grey water management and micro irrigation system.

The waterpark is Phase I of a larger 35 rai mixed-use development that also consists of a 300-key family hotel and premium residences. With more than 200,000 trees in its 20 rai property, Vana Nava Hua Hin will literally become an “oasis of fun” that enhances Hua Hin’s image as a premier family destination.

Reading about the water park is interesting. Many times refer to high safty standards in park, but what about safty outside. Location of park, traffic flow and parking. I don't think many considered this and now car accident almost every day because of road they make just for water park. I guess we'll just have to wait and see in first week of open how safe watet park is.

Actually, I don't see anything wrong with the 2-way horseshoe. It's incredibly simple. The problem is that it's used by Thai drivers who have no understanding of signage, road markings and common sense. There's a small mini-roundabout with 4 exits. Only the Thai's could completely grid-lock it causing considerable effort and time to untangle the grid-lock.
I understand that the traffic re-shaping was paid for by Vana Vala which is as it should be as it is to help the traffic flow by the water park.

Now that I know it's there, I have to agree with you HHTel, it does seem much safer. However, at the Southern end of the new layout, it is proving to be a death trap. I have seen 2 horrific accidents there within a week. Of course, what I don't know is whether the accidents were caused because people don't understand the new layout (I was one of those people until it was clarified on this forum); or (TIT) people are too lazy to use the new system properly, and are attempting short cuts.

I think the accidents at the south end are caused by two problems. 1. Joining a main road via a slip road (Thais do not give way) and 2. Although the central barrier has been progressively increased southward, driver still want to do a U-turn there. The road isn't really wide enough for that.

Sorry, but your post says the fault lies with the traffic design outside the water park. That's not true. There is nothing wrong with the design just the drivers who take no notice and make up the rules themselves. If it is used correctly, then there wouldn't be any problems.

If you're talking about the one on the corner of 112, then it's a condo.

Sounds like I have at least one more place to visit on my next
visit to Hua Hin. I will have a brave tuk tuk driver take me there
to avoid having my bike get ran over by a local driver. Ha Ha
