Sarge and I rarely agreed on the forum, especially on political matters. He was a larger than life character and I'm glad he found happiness in his final years.

I am also saddened and shocked by the sad news. I have only met Sarge through the forum, like others. I always remember his very brave post when helping another forum member who was down and depressed. He will be sadly missed.

I only knew Sarge from the forum and he was somebody I would have been interested to meet as he appeared to express fairness and justice, if not always expressed well. He was somebody who could be relied upon to 'rock the boat' and I admire that. As Wilde said, "the only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about".

This is a real shock, in view of his final few posts here and I can't really add anything to what has already been said, apart from to say how deeply saddened I am to hear this news.

Very sad news.

Never met the man myself, but he was obviously a very well liked and respected person in the community. Enjoyed his contribution to the forum though we didn't agree on things much. My condolences to friends and family.
