Ran into a Youtube celebrity at Market Village today.

I've watched most of his videos on YT. It is all about retiring on a budget in Asia/Thailand. He meets up with members of his site and interviews them about the advantages of retiring in LOS. One of the things he mentions a lot is the friendliness of everyone. How everyone smiles and stops and chats compared to the USA. A bit ironic if he throws a wobbly when someone taps him on the shoulder.

That depends. I was on a jury once in an assault case and we (the jurors) were instructed on the legal definition of assault and it could be any physical contact. Here in the U.S. you can be charged with assault for touching someone with the tip of one finger if done in an offensive way or in a way that causes apprehension in the other person.

I saw this guy JC a few months ago in Cha Am. I said hello to him. Similar behavior: he immediately said he had no time for me. I asked if maybe he had time for a drink later, but no, rather rude, he walked on.
