Odd. The guy behind the counter wrote down the address with 77111 as the postal code. Luckily I've only given the address to a few people. Can you imagine the confusion created for every person he told the postal code was 77111? Will all their mail go the the airport post office?

thanks for your input regarding po boxes. So is it best to open a po box @ the old site across from the police station or at the new site near the airport. The old one is more centrally located but its not going to be good if the mail is going to the new one? cheers

When the main PO was down town the Post Code was 77110 so when it moved towards HH Airport the code remained the same. However the Post Code at the old location is now 77111 - that is all, so if you open a PO box at the old location and mark you address post code 77111 that is where your post will be delivered.

Anyone have any idea where my package would be (see attached tracking info)? They say they have notified me, but no note or slip in my mailbox. Would the package be at the airport office, in town or south of the flyover?

If it were me, I would start at the office closest to where I live and work out until hopefully the package is found - good luck!!

Opposite police station first then, since I live in the Soi 94 area. I probably need all the luck in the world knowing how the postal system works here in Thailand!

If you have to pay charges I would go to the Post Office near the airport first. I live South of Hau Hin and was expecting a package from the States, the postman arrived with a form showing I had to pay 'Import Duty' which I had to sign and received a copy of the form and told to take it to the Airport Post office, sure enough the package was their and received it after paying duty.

My last parcel by EMS where a card was left was not at the one near the police station, but the newer one, and I live Soi 94. I think they all go to the new one. Fortunately I have a good relationship with my postman and I showed him the card and I asked him if he could re deliver it for me and he brought it the next day.

At least you were notified. I haven't received any cards only the info from the tracking.

I used to have that problem with the EMS guy as my house is in a small unnamed soi and he could never find it so I never used to get a card.

Well. The package was at the main office next to Concept and Mercedes. Why the postman didn't leave a card he didn't know, but he said he will try to find out. Anyway I have it now [SMILING FACE WITH OPEN MOUTH AND TIGHTLY-CLOSED EYES][SMILING FACE WITH OPEN MOUTH AND TIGHTLY-CLOSED EYES][SMILING FACE WITH OPEN MOUTH AND TIGHTLY-CLOSED EYES]

We live near Soi 112. Our house and our old P.O. Box, across from police station, both had zip 77110.

A few months back, wife said P.O. across from police station was closing and new Hua Hin P.O. would be too far away, north of town. But a new one had opened near Soi 116 - Hua Hin Beach Post Office. So she got a box there. Since it was a new P.O. she had her pick of any box number - easiest number, easiest to reach & see into, etc. Plus, parking is not a problem and the boxes are on an outside wall so can be assessed at any time, not just when the p.o. is open. Zip for Hua Hin Beach Post Office is 77111.

But altho our house address is still zip 77110 our house delivery is funneled thru the close by beach post office. When a tracking search for a package showed it had been in Hua Hin for 10 days she went to the beach p.o. & picked it up. They said normally the delivery guy only goes out our way twice a week but they would jack him up about leaving it sit in the p.o. for 10 days.

Also, it seems the ฿7 fee is for delivery. Because she has intercepted our packages twice at the p.o. before they bothered to deliver them and they didn’t charge the ฿7 fee. Also once when we were not home a small package was left at our house without collecting the ฿7 fee, probably because he realizes a 2nd attempt to deliver it would be bad economy

Hin, I think you're a bit confused. Hua Hin Beach PO is the refurbished one opposite the police station. The one south of Hua Hin is Hua Na PO. :)

You are correct hhinner and my face is red. I posted a lot of bad information. Somtimes I do not understand her at all. From her comments I didn’t even realize the Police station p.o. had been resurrected. When it was closed she picked up our mail at the temporary one upstairs in the Pure Appliance store downtown. Then when that closed our new box is now at the refurbished p.o. across from the Police station, not near Soi 116, and they changed their name to Hua Hin Beach P.O. and changed their zip code to 77111. And she was able to pick a nice box as she was one of the first to show up asking for one,

She says the p.o. near Soi 116 is the one our mail passes thru when addressed to our house address and is where she goes to pick up our errant packages. But it does not have any p.o. boxes and do not know if they even do have their own zip code number

Post by tirlittan »

Where is Hua hin post office located nowadays, is it still opposite the police station in the soi leading to the Central beach?
