It makes you wonder how they make any money, giving away free air conditioning.
Near where we used to live in California the mall was used by many, mainly senior. people as an exercise walk. If my wife managed to drag me to the center i would sit out while she shopped, and saw many people making circuits.

I was not the only guy sitting waiting, and it would come up that they need bars in the place (liquid not iron)

Some years ago I used to sometimes get dragged to The Mall in Khorat and that used to have a pretty decent bar in the basement with live music all day, picturesque girls in uniform and large pitchers of draft beer, it was much better than shopping!

That's been going on a long time. Back in the 70's my Dad belonged to a "mall walking" exercise club. They went to the local mall every couple of days and fast walked round inside it for about an hour. It was a safe, climate controlled place for retirees to get their exercise.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

I love to go to Tesco in MV..it is the only store in H.H. where I do not have an assistant shadowing me...I can pick-up, put-down, drift on, try a shirt on, choose a light bulb myself..without a hand reaching past you & offering you the one THEY think you need! (Yes I'm talking about Home Pro).
But Tesco alas DO have the surliest checkout staff in all of H.H. (& the smallest price-displays on their tills) :naughty:

Now that Watsadu has air con it is definitely a place most blokes would be happy wandering around. No issues with staff bothering you like at home pro. In fact it is the opposite but I prefer disrupting the staff from their group chat about the latest gossip for some help rather than being harassed. Once asked the staff are quite willing to "try" to assist. But perhaps it has a way to go before it becomes a mall.

It's supposed to be a lot more upmarket than MV. Think Siam Paragon, BKK.

I will try to find out what stores Bluport will have when I'm back in Hua Hin. My wife's niece is going to work there, and she is currently in "training" at Siam Paragon in BKK, so as Pleng mentions it will probably be more upmarket than MV.

Blueport resort mall is going to be fantastic, check out their web site

It is going to have a train, a boat and a horse, and everything is going to be in Thai, what a crap web site for such a huge development.

http://www.bluporthuahin.com/

To be honest we do need something new in HH Market Village is becoming very tired with very little new ever on offer.

Bluport will have The Mall's own department store, just a smaller version to match the size of the new store. Within that they'll have their own outlets, plus concessions. There will of course, be other stores as well.

Yes, and what we need most is MORE TRAFFIC! 45 minutes to one hour from Khao Takiab to Hua Hin. Will only get worse. I am moving to Cha Am.

BLUPORT isa destination mall, not there for locals to buy bread and butter, but for the BKK-Thais to come for and parade around rather like Emporium in BKK. If farang wish to shop there I am sure they will be happy but the marketing will not be directed at them. So dont expect any degree of english fluency there.
