That sucks. Put it on social media if you can to let others know. It bothers me to put 800,000 B in a Thai bank once a year, the trust isn't there with generals running the place.
talk to a lawyer. there's probably someone in this forum who could recommend one. I'd also contact govt. ministers. make a lot of noise.

We know that Thailand is a cheaper place to live. That's why many of us are here. I can live well here on my pension, where as I would survive in the UK.

This thread is about the unscrupulous businesses (thankfully the minority), who realise Western prices, and feel justified in raising their prices accordingly.

Yes I'm a moaner, but I don't like it when somebody starts taking the P without justification.

I put a lot, probably more than most into the Thai community, and don't look for any credit. I do it because I love Thailand and its people, and thoroughly enjoy living here. One recent example of the kind of guy I am, and my principals.......

I visited my daughter, and there was a Thai guy who I'd never seen below in obvious discomfort surrounded by Thais. He had his head on a table and Thais were hitting the side of his head trying to get an insect out. When I got the full story, an insect had flown inside his ear, and he couldn't afford to go to hospital. I just told them to stop what they were doing. I put him in my car, took him to hospital, waited while he was treated, paid for his treatment and medication and took him home again. Something I would do for any fellow human being.

However, when somebody tries to rob me, I can't turn a blind eye. The entire thread was started trying to warn others about the unscrupulous element. Believe me. I might joke about being tight, but if I can help anybody, I will do so, and will not take any financial reward whatsoever. I do not seek recognition, just fair treatment in return.

While the thread might upset some, I will not encourage the behaviour.

I am now more upset about the possibility of insects crawling inside my ear than HH ripoffs...

So for around £10 ( B440) you have quite a good night.....I have not made the 11 th dish yet, but I'm up for the challenge when I get back
Now you have to tell us where that pub is, as with those prices, even without the free grub, I'd like to pay that place a visit next time I'm back in the UK, provided of course that it's not in Shetland, or somewhere similar

You should be - I think I've got a photo of what was taken out - 3/4". The best bit though was the Thais - they had his head on it's side hitting the opposite ear to get it out. He'd have suffered brain damage before that baby came out.

[Edit] Sorry. I can't find the photo.

Seems a couple of members took my last post other than I intended. I do apologise for any misunderstanding. Having been slandered on the internet being called " The Al Capone of the new property shop mafia" When I had only been in town 3 days I spoke to a lawyer where I got the advice that it was a serious offence. I had not sold or rented a property; I was still setting up the office and felt it a little unfair. I took no action as it was simply beneath me to do so. Better things to get on with.

I concur that the internet is a great source of information and research myself every time before travelling.

Money where my mouth is? No problem.

The new indian restaurant in the middle of town opened a little while ago with some special introductory offers. The food was good so I tried again and it was still good.
This week I ordered again - a take a way which still looks good. But I was astonished at the price. Approximately 3 TIMES the price of the other Indian Restaurants in town !!
Now that's what I call Rip Off Hua Hin.

Usually I go to S&S Soi 94. Reasonable price for good quality, but each time I go the price is 10 Bhat higher.

It's the Mehfil on Naresdamri across from the Hilton.

I also use S and S but decided on a change this time. never again !!!

I don't mind paying a premium at any restaurant where the food and service are well above average. But this was a takeaway meal and, in my opinion, no quality is worth a 200% mark up.

2 Chicken Tikka, 2 Onion Bhajee, 1 Chicken Madras and 1 Bombay Potatoes.

1,410 Baht

S and S are much cheaper than that. The buffet at Take 5 is approx 390 Baht for all you can eat including all the items that I ordered.

It's water under the bridge now but did you not look at a menu or ask the price prior to finalizing the order? Seems like pretty much SOP for all things here in Thailand.
