Problem is, Bangkok Police are expert story tellers. They are so convincing when they tell you what you've done.

One time I was stopped, cop walked towards me laughed and said--Oh you go see Thai lady--he pointed,my fly was open, he laughed and waved me on.

"my fly was open, he laughed and waved me on."
Was it a small but unconcealed weapon, hence the laughter; lo0ol

Got stopped between 94 and 102 last week, cop was fine , had 1 beer with dinner - quite polite actually :).

I would agree with that 200% at the official stops, especially since the bombings. They are almost apologetic when they see you are a Farang. I am still to have a problem at any police stop in Hua Hin - they have always been fine. Some may be a bit grumpy, but wouldn't we all if we had to stand in the blazing sun inhaling exhaust fumes?

Every problem I've encountered has been away from Hua Hin. I have absolutely no worries when queuing at a Hua Hin traffic check.

I was stopped on the same cross road a couple of weeks ago. The cop who stopped me was drunk! Puffy eyes, slurred speech - no question about it. When I asked him about it he waved me on through right sharpish.

I got stopped a while ago on that road. Obviously a couple of cops moonlighting. They told me that I'd have to wait for a breathalyser from the police station. I called my wife who lives around the corner. They asked me who I called. "You said I'd have to go to the police station, so I called your boss." One spoke to the other then they both got in their car and speeded off.
