Demolition of buildings on the railway road

Post by nic1 »

After years of speculation,it seems that the authorities are at last demolishing all the properties on the train road, both sides are to be removed.Does anybody know if this is to make the double rail track or a better wider road?

BOTH sides? I guess it must be for double tracks. PROBLEM-- there will be NO back road from soi 88 to train stattion, all that traffic on PK anybody in govt thought about that?

Perhaps the road will be shifted slightly East?

The demolition of a small number of properties at the rail crossing top of Soi 88 is for road widening which makes sense. Don't think the properties that run parallel and East of the railway track will be demolished until the last minute, as the land for the businesses are rented off the railway authorities.

You may be right, but I know for a fact that the lady we used for clothes repair etc was given notice about a year ago by the railway. She's already gone, and her little workplace demolished. She was closer to the station than Soi 88.

I'm not sure road widening there would make any sense at all. It will just create a larger area of confusion similar to the other side of the Soi 88 crossing.

The lady that sells chicken from a cart has been told she has to go so it will be both sides of the road.

Thinking about it, if it is the rail track, this will undo all of the great work done by the Tessebahn over the last 4 years, establishing rat runs to ease traffic flow through Hua Hin.

There's quite a large one in buriram but was so dangerous with people not knowing how to use it properly they installed traffic lights.

Demolition of shops on Railway Road

Post by StevePIraq »

I drove along Prapokklao better known as Railway Road today and noticed a number of shops on the rail track side have been demolished near to Soi 88, does anyone know what's happening or is demolition becoming a growing business here.

It would be real nice if they re-laid the road along that stretch as it is atrocious.

Hi StevePIrap

My thoughts a couple of weeks ago
Geko wrote: Thu May 18, 2017 7:17 am Just my thoughts but the properties along the railway line from the Soi 88 to the railway station maybe the next to go, a few have already been demolished and many more closed down and boarded up.
.
The word on the street is, the whole block of properties from Soi 88 to Soi 70 on the railway line side of the road will be demolished within a year to make way for the new railway line modifications. The land is owned by the railway.

That is no great loss, never had any really popular restaurants like the ones demolished next to the temple wall.
