Activities for young children in the Hua Hin area

Post by fabman » Sat Jul 01, 2017 2:02 pm

Hi everyone,

I would like to make some kind of list and suggestions on here for places to take young children. Activities etc , older kids as well :D

There is a real lack of public parks here and some of the playgrounds i have seen look more dangerous than safe !

If anyone has suggestion for Restaurants that have a nice garden / playground in them , that would be good as well

The places off the top of my head are: ( most of these cost money )
The Beach of course is the main one
Market village kids Fantasia
Blue port Whaley point
Swiss sheep farm near Cha Am
Black sheep farm , near Hua Hin
Santorini Park
Black mountain / Vana Vana water parks
Hutsadin Elephant Foundation
There is a nice restaurant in soi 6 ( my lovely garden )

For young children 4-7ish, there a small indoor play area at the Alpaca restaurant, just before you reach the Energy project if traveling from Cha Am towards HH - they also of course have some Alpac's to see and some large Koi Carp. In the evening they also have live music so it's a nice venue, albeit the food is only average and a bit higher prices than most restaurants, but I suppose they have to cover their overheads

Cannot speak for the activities but second the comment on the food. Prices fairly high and quality so-so

There's also Vana Nava (spelling?) water park, heading south, out of Hua-Hin.

Down by the beach at 19 Rai there is a small playground, along with few exercise things for doing exercise, and quite a decent pathway which is quite nice if your kids want to use roller blades, a push scooter or a small bicycle.

Some of the markets also have a bouncy castle and a few trampolines set up on certain days and charge 20 baht per hour or half hour.

Also, there's a children's play area at Hua-Hin Fishing Lodge.

If you are actually living here, then you could also let your kid/s join a martial arts club. There are a few taekwondo clubs in the area, and also a Wado Karate Club up Soi 94 which my kids attend, but as far as I know kids must be at least 7 or 8 years of age in order to join.

Don't try to impress me with your manner of dress cos a monkey himself is a monkey no less - cold fact

We used to go here more often , but the park doesn't seem of been kept in good condition , it looks really shabby recently, the swings and slides as well are falling apart and some have exposed concrete around them. You would think the local government could maintain these places properly and make sure they are kept safe for children

Cha am Forest Park. Just before you hit Cha am on the left. Some spaces there for children to run about.
