19 Rai Beach

Post by hhinner »

I was down at the beach at 19 Rai the other day for the first time in a while.

Where has the sand gone? It's not that long ago that you could walk down the steps onto the sand, but it's a pretty big last step now.

Yes, that happens wherever the rainwater flows from the town to the sea. After a decent shower, the sand level drops several feet at the end of Soi 75 where I usually enter, and it's noticeable all the way to Khao Takiab.

It's one of the fascinating things about walking the beach, the landscape changes regularly.

I know what you mean BB, I was walking along the beach towards Khao Takiap a couple of weeks ago in the rain and had to wade through a sizeable river that had appeared at one point.

When they fix it, and they always do, they seem to do all of the beach in a very short time.

OK. Thanks. I've never seen it like that before so did wonder about it.
